Riad Perle d'Eau was one of the highlights accommodation wise in Morocco.

It is located right beside the ocean so the view from their rooftop deck (where breakfast is served) is amazing. Rooms were large and well-appointed. Service was friendly and efficient. If you start to chat with the owner, be prepared. He likes to talk but is good fun!

Breakfast was delicious and never-ending. In addition to the usual Moroccan pastries and "pancakes" they do custom omelettes. Everything is prepared fresh. We also had dinner, though that is an add-on. It was a great dinner, made even better by the fact that they serve wine and spirits - unlike most smaller Moroccan hotels.

We brought home a bottle of their olive oil from their own orchard. They also sell the beautiful soaps supplied in the rooms.

The only drawback - a common one in Morocco - is that the riad is deep within the medina. You'll want to arrange a porter to haul your bags and guide you through the alleys.

My daughter in law and I were having a week in Essaouria and choose this because of the view from the top terrace. We were not disappointed this is a lovely Riad in a lovely location in the old quarter and right by the sea. The interior is well laid out and our room was spacious with a lovely shower. The breakfasts were very good with fresh fruit eggs and different breads. Our hosts were very helpful. This is within easy walking distance of most things however it is probably not the right place for anyone physically impaired as it is at least a 5-10 minute walk from the taxi (a man and a push cart will take your suitcases for 20 dhms) and the Riad itself has many steps. Altogether i would recommend this Riad we certainly had a lovely stay.

We stayed for two nights in a lovely sea view room
Can not fault staff or breakfast
Location is amazing
The owner Ernest and his wife (a smashing friendly couple) built this from the ground up and have done a brilliant job, this is first class and is central for everything in Essaouira (a lovely place to stay)

Charming rooms in perfect condition with a view of the ocean and water crashing against the shore. A great place to enjoy the seashore. Owned by a charming swiss couple this Riad has excellent roof-top breakfasts where you have table service and ocean views.

We loved our stay here! The Riad was absolutely stunning... a beautiful building in a great location. You're only steps from both the beach and the souks. The hosts Ernest and his wife were so welcoming and we were really well looked after. The building/room was spotless, I don't think I've ever stayed somewhere so clean and comfortable! The cherry on top is the amazing view from the roof terrace, we'll miss our breakfasts up there. If you're in Essaouira, this is definitely the perfect place to stay!
