We stayed at Puno Terra for 2 nights as it was included in our tour. We were charged 60 USD per night, but found out that you could find the same room on booking.com for 35 USD. So if we were charged the correct price we'd might have been a bit more positive.

Pros:
- Close to the main square and street
- Reasonably fast wi-fi

Cons:
- Really rundown and would need a total makeover
- The room was really cold when we came (about 12 degrees). The room doesn't have any heating, so we were offered a small, noisy heater that got the room quite warm but produced horrible air.
- The shower didn't have hot water, only medium. You really need a hot shower after being out in the cold in Puno
- The staff hardly knows a word english
- The interior of the room is really, really basic

So if we'd got the room for 30 USD I'd given a 3 star, but considering the price we paid it was a total scam. So we'd never return.

I stayed here with an Intrepid / Highland Tour group. It was a decent little hotel. There is internet access in reception. Very clean and tiled throughout with a lovely sunny breakfast area. The location is a bit hidden down a side street and you could easily get lots it you don't take a hotel card with you. They looked after our main bags while we did a one night stay on an island on Lake Titicaca. I had a terrible nights sleep though which may have been due to the altitude. Puno is at 3800m (12,000ft).

Good mid-range hotel arranged as part of our package was just fine. Comfortable bed was quite warm with all the thick blankets - no need for a heater. Quiet location about 3-4 blocks from Jr Lima street where all the restaurants are. Had we stayed closer to that area it probably would have been noisy. Hot water in shower was fine. Continental Breakfast was adequate. Computer in front lobby was helpful although the keyboard keys got stuck. Stayed twice and they kept our bags while we went to Lake Titicaca. Would stay here again.

Room Tip: Both rooms were clean and comfortable, but Rm 202 had larger bathroom and a hair dryer whereas rm 103 bath and shower was smaller. But if you are bothered by light, bring an eye mask because upstairs room don't have blackout curtains.

We booked this hotel through an agent… never a good idea. It was sold to me as a good medium range hotel. I’d say it is on the lower end of medium range, but the room was actually surprisingly OK compared to the lobby and other common areas, which are old and dated (see my photos).

Our room was large with one bed side table shared between two beds. Apart from a table there was no bench space. The bed was Ok, but the two blankets weighed a ton. There was an old tube TV hanging off the wall. Cable TV but nothing in English.

Bathroom was large with a nice big shower recess and plenty hot water.
The location is just acceptable. It is three and 1/2 blocks to the main plaza, not one block as someone else here suggested.

Other reviews suggest that it’s good value for the price, so I guess it just depends what you pay. We paid our agent US$55, which I feel is a bit overpriced compared to other hotels in town.

Welcoming and warm! This hotel was like home in a foreign land. The staff was friendly and helpful in planning excursions to Lake Titikaka. The room was very clean and spacious bathroom. There was a space heater that helped with the cool environment of this high altitude atmosphere. the beds were comfortable and had warm lama wool blankets. It was quiet and restful. OK breakfast. Location is great and within walking distance to the central Plaza de Armes and all restaurants and shops. A great value!!

Room Tip: Let the staff help you with excursions to the Lake. Love the reception with the coca tea.
