Mingnan was introduce to me by my GI (Genuine Insik) client last December. We ordered their spareribs, oyster cake, and fried rice. The food was so good, taste like Chinese Food from mainland China. Made me question... what the heck do they mix in their dishes that makes them so good and so tasty? Im sure tons of MSG.

I would definitely recomment this Chinese Hole In The Wall restaurant. I suggest you take out unless you want to eat with the noisy Genuine Insik.

Thank Dennies S

The food is reasonably cheap, but the taste is not compromise..

At 50 pesos one can choose 2 dish that comes with one cup of rice..

This little chinise restaurant sells affordable yet delicious foods to customers. They have live seafoods like shrimps, pampano fish which is very expensive in other restaurants. Even live crabs. You can have them cooked in the manner you liked them to be cooked.

This is where you get the best lomi in town! The Chinese owners are hands on with their business. They make sure our food are served promptly. Let this seemingly modest place not deceive you into thinking that it is just another small eatery or carenderia serving so-so food. Their inexpensive home style meals are worth the visit despite of no parking on their premises. You will have to park far and walk to this place.

Not everybody will love this place. Some will complain about the food, some about the place. This is a great find hole in the wall type of a restaurant. The owners are also the ones who cook, serve, does the cashiering, and even receive orders over the phone. This mom and pop restaurant is authentic because the owners are from china, and flavors are not the same as any of the chinese restaurants in cebu. Flavors here are closer to china (doesn't this make it authentic?) for those who travel to and have eaten anywhere in China. As there are several ways chinese food is presented, I cannot really say which this restaurant belongs to: they can serve them schezuan, fookien, even those cooked from the blander north China side.

They look like a cafeteria/fast food, as this is what you will see right out. From those food on display, I had a hearty meal of a heaping bowl of rice and 2 viands all for a grand total of 50 pesos! I also ordered a viand for 50 pesos, using those elongated melamine plates, which gives you an idea how much a 50 peso serving is. However, they can also prepare food that needs to be cooked, a la carte. Unfortunately, they don't have a menu that you can choose from. As I have eaten here a few times, my favorite to order from them: oyster omelette, spare ribs, spicy schezuan style string beans, boiled live shrimp, live pampano steamed in soy. Dry noodles are either called cha mi or cha mi hun. These orders are generally based on peso value, not the typical restaurant size of small, medium, large with a corresponding price. Here, you order 100 pesos, 200 pesos, 250 pesos, 300 pesos and so on, worth of a particular dish.

I estimate the damage to your pocket equivalent to around at least 30% cheaper than your typical chinese restaurant in Cebu. If compared to the prices in Manila's chinese restaurants, it would be even a lot cheaper.

Now, since this is a hole in the wall, do not expect nice, classy surroundings. The toilet is even very basic, and may turn off some people. Just manage your expectations and enjoy the flavors as I did.
