I have stayed at many Shangrila Properties and I thought the breakfast at this place was not great. Especially the vegetarian selection was not upto the mark. The croissant was also not good. Very crowded and the fruit and nuts varieties were also missing.

We availed of the breakfast buffet that was included in our stay. Its a good thing we went early the both times we went because the place gets packed fast! The selection was plenty, the food was good. Will try lunch or dinner next time.

We have been to Tides several times.. the place is usually crowded around 8-9:30am when most of the guests are awake and would want to eat breakfast. The best time to have breakfast is before 8am. They have a wide array of pastries to choose from; must-try: puto maya (sweet sticky rice wrapped in banana leaf) and sikwate (native hot chocolate drink) which my Mom always eats whenever we go there

We have been to Tides a couple of times already and experienced Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner at different occassions, and I can say that we do feel at home at this place. The crew is accommodating, friendly and very attentive. They also try their best to make you feel comfortable while dining by checking up on you time to time. The food is yummy and of different variety and they have delicious drinks too. We always leave very full and satisfied! Excellent service too received from Sir Jun, Sir Carl Custodio, Ms Ingrid, Sir Paolo, Ms Mira and everyone else.

Tides was our primary go-to restaurant while staying as the Shanri-La Resort. They did serve an excellent breakfast and dinner buffet. If you have a small appetite, there is an a-la carte menu as well.
But I have to give a big shout-out to the staff at Tides. I always believe, if the service is not good at any restaurant, the food will have no taste, no matter how good. The Tides staff did not disappoint. By the second day, the staff knew us by name, knew our favorite beverages, and even knew our length of stay. And none of this was tip-based.
I reviewed Tides as part of my hotel review, and I give Tides very high marks.
For the a-la carte menu, get the burger. Well cooked, and good portion size.
For the buffet menu - access to foods of different countries was amazing. Do not expect the foreign food offerings to be 100% authentic, but the food will be tasty, and will satisfy THAT craving.
