This Center has been around for some time, and the great work they have done in artificial breeding of four species, found only on the island and nowhere else in the world -- e.g. the Negros bleeding-heart pigeon, is definitely worth a visit!

It was nice seeing endangered species and rare animals but it would be better if the government gives support to this sanctuary. The place needs more caretakers. the pathwalks were filled with moss anyone can slip. Mosquitoes were everywhere too.

One of the most painful things to see are animals in cages. It borders on animal cruelty and that is also the reason why I am reluctant to visit any "animal showcase" kind of attraction. BUT! This time I make an exception because the goal of the facility is to raise awareness that these beautiful creatures are in peril and disappearing fast. It is devastating that in Bacolod, the only safe place for these animals are in these cramped cages (ironically). They survive from donations and entrance fees. They try to educate so people would finally start accepting the reality of massive species extinction.

It is depressing to see the animals in small and dirty cages. It doesn´t seem to be proper for those wild animals. I would´t go there again.
