Nice museum with an amazing collection. The museum is next to some other attractions, one is a really incredibly church.
The museum is not expensive and is has a nice size, the paints inside of it are really a good exemplar of the european production and some of them are even hard to find in Europe, like Gaspar. D. Friedrich.
Don't expect an Ermitage, but I recommend taking

Great selection of painters. Decent selection of paintings. Small museum with many renowned artists, but paintings although interesting are not their best of course.

We visited this excellent museum with our kids. They loved it! In this museum you can admire paintings of the greatest artists of the 19th and 20th century. Strongly recommend it. Do not miss it!

This a collection of wonderful impressionist works that have never been seen outside Russia - rare works by the masters : Monet, Matisse, Van Gogh, Pissaro etc - a whole afternoon can be whiled away looking at these amazing paintings. It's part of the Pushkin Gallery of Fine Arts but separate building and separate tickets (although you can buy a combined ticket to see both). There were long queues at the main gallery but none whatsoever here - and what a treat! Not to be missed if you are an art lover.
