Been to a lot of churches so after reading the reviews we skipped going inside to have a look, which does not sound like much. Great picture and a nice walk down the canal to get here.

This is a really architecturally and historically interesting looking building from the outside. I was looking forward to seeing a lovely old Prussian interior. Unfortunately, there is not much to see inside. The nave of the church is now just an organ concert hall, and has boring white walls. I just peaked in- so glad I didn't actually buy an additional ticket to get into that part of the building! There is a small museum upstairs about Immanuel Kant. Signs are mostly in Russian and German, so maybe if you can read those languages you would enjoy this more. For me, there were was not much to see other than a few photos and copies of Kant's books. His recreated library was cool to see. The highlight for me was definitely the exhibition room. A local artist was displaying her work, based on her childhood in Kaliningrad. She was in the room and happy to discuss her works with visitors, so that was definitely cool.

The entree is about 200 roubles? What do you get for these money ? Photos of old Königsberg ( mainly made around Königsberg cathedral - so the photos are basically the same ) , some old coins , some new coins and banknotes from other countries ( don't see the connection with the cathedral ) , two rooms are devoted to Immanuel Kant . You will find some pieces of Masonic symbolic . That's pretty it. They have no toilet inside - museum visitors must go outside and pay extra 30 roubles ( while among the city the public toilet price is 10-15) . Female purses and backpacks aren't allowed - they must be left at garderobe. When I asked them who will be responsible for my 8,000 $ camera kit the so called security woman told me - nobody . She advised me to carry the whole kit with me. Staff doesn't speak descent foreign language. All they do - is watching inside of their smartphones. The main language of exposition is Russian . Some items are translated into German . Nothing is in English besides the NO smoking sign outside. Next year is the world soccer tournament and it's a shame for the region to have historical museums like that. Not interesting , not prepared , not organized. Taking photos is at extra cost too. Don't waste your time in the museum. If you go there go only for an organ concert. To take a look at the organ hall will cost you another 150 roubles .i supposed charging money for everything is a way to pay salaries to all these security ladies in each room who play in their cell phones all day .
