We were 7 in the party, sleeping in 4 rooms. The two rooms close to Reception were very cramped, others more spacious. The breakfast area was also cramped, and the coffee machine capricious. However the hotel is only 1 minute's walk from Palace Square and the vast Hermitage Museum. It is also walking distance from other tourist attractions in the city centre. The staff were very helpful, and at least one spoke fluent English.
You ask about noise level. we were there just before the armistice parade in Palace Square, with tanks rolling by in the street outside the hotel, but heard nothing.

Room tip: ask for a larger room (may be up flights of stairs)

This hotel is situated literally in 2 min walking to the Palace Square! You may find yourself staying inside the Hermitage if it'd be closer! All rooms have different shape and form because the hotel accommodation is set and is developing in the building of flats where local Russian people live. My room 22A was large with comfortable double bed, TV and spacious bathroom. They bring good breakfast to your room at the time when you ask them. I had really good time staying at the hotel and will certainly book it when I return next time.

Room tip: Rooms 22A and 22C are the best!

The hotel steals/takes your money from your credit card without permission - they did this for our letter of invitation although we did not ask for it. When confronting the hotel - they won't return it

Nice staff. In the heart of the city, 350 m from Hermitage. Everything is in a walking distance from the hotel. Just few minutes walk to Hermitage, Dvorcovaya ploščad, Neva River and many other historical parts. In the past I lived two years at the next door. Now sometimes I lived in hotel when I come to business trip to Sankt-Petersburg.

100 metres from the hermitage with parking for guests. Very tricky to find as their correspondence says number 27 which really doesn't,t exist other than as a piece of wall but they are really at number 24 and difficult to locate walking in a blizzard as we did. I,m not sure if we paid a foreigners price but we seemed to get the superior room, one of a few on the opposite side of the courtyard from the reception and as a result were not invited to the small breakfast area but had done one deliver breakfast to our room every morning purchased from a local restaurant. I,m not sure if the range of sweet cake things and pancakes is the usual Russian fare but it was different to what was on offer in the reception area. Not our cup of tea but adequate. We had fridge and microwave and coffee machine in our room and air conditioning which l suspect some rooms do not have yet. One girl in reception spoke a few words of English but l suspect she was let go the next day when she turned ip late so therecwent our lifeline. We appeared the only foreign gusts but many work and holiday Russians seemed the rest of the mostly fully booked boutique hotel. Clean large house room, three sets of security including what can only be called a safe door that was a circus to open to the ancient historical stairwell. Only on several times other less concerned guests l suspect had left it open.. so much for security. Twice we entered the courtyard and stopped to have a smoke and very soon after a staff member came out to see who was there which is reassuring when you have security concerns. When we wanted a taxi the receptionist after some difficulty organised a friend to take us to the station in a private car for a quarter or less than the taxi price... it's Russia. Non English speaker, in fact no attempt at communication turned up soon enough, good we gave ourselves time and it worked. Note thus ihotel is in the heart of things. Three times in five days the street was cut off and we immediately thought security. No one for a bike race which is why our cab driver chucked us and our cases blocks from the hotel without directions in a blizzard. Once for a running race and on a third occasion we returned to have more tanks lined up outside our hotel than the whole Australian army owns rehearsing for the May 9 celebration in a few days time. Great to watch the rehearsal but don,t try to cross the road to see the other half of the hermitage. There is a small pub next door if you can find it without street signage below street level where you can get drinks and home cooked basic food , another review when l can work out its name. Trip advisor rejected my first attempt as it's probably not identified correctly. There are two convenience stores within eighty metres so if it's inclement weather go and get a selection of dumplings from one cook in you room and add some fresh dill and sour cream available there enjoy with a drink and be early next morning to the hermitage, or the riverboat trip to peterhov.
