Bad experience at the Eva Hotel in Perm. Very rude front desk staff, even more than normal for Russia.

To start, our room only had one towel for two people. Requested another set of towels, but was only given an extra bathrobe and toiletry set. Gave up and decided to share the one towel.

Next, I kindly asked the young woman at the front desk to help print my train tickets. She spoke rapidly in Russian to me, although she knew I only speak a few words, apparently telling me she was busy doing something else. There was only one other guest in the hotel, so I'm not sure what vitally important task that could have been. She ignored me after awhile and all but waved me away with a grunt. I stood there in shock. Can't remember the last time I've been treated like that at a hotel.

The next morning at check out, we asked to store our luggage for one hour while we went to lunch. This same young girl said, "Nyet!" Just for one hour? "Nyet!" No explanation, no apology. She almost seemed to enjoy the exchange. I'm not sure if that is hotel policy or if she was just being spiteful for some reason. Ended up having to drag our suitcases around town in the heat looking for a restaurant. My 77 year old mother was fuming.

The lady serving breakfast was kind and courteous, too bad she wasn't working the front desk instead.

Oh, if you do stay here, good luck finding it. Our taxi driver couldn't even find it, as it's tucked away behind other buildings and not visible from the street.

Worst experience during our month in Russia. Not recommended if you're a foreigner.
