arriving at night my initial impressions were that the hotel was isolated and that I would be at the mercy of their expensive restaurants. As it turned out the hotel was situated on the lake in the most beautiful grounds which it was a pleasure to walk through. The main sights were easy to get to and at night the brightly lit pagoda towered above the gardens. Excellent food was a short taxi ride away in the centre of town. The hotel staff had adequate English and were extremely helpful in every way including ordering taxis. The room was modern and very comfortable in typical international hotel style, but the rest of the hotel was so much more. Highly recommended.

I am fortunate to get to travel to China often for business but seldom thane I been fortunate enough to stay at such a beautiful place, while the hotel offers older style accommodation it is clean and comfortable and the grounds and lake are magnificent.

This ticks the box as to why we visited Hangzhou. Peace, beautiful gardens, local cuisine plus the military hype of uniforms marching across the grounds. The rooms are older and the bathroom could do with a makeover. The staff was outstanding.

This resort is full of lush green and you can take a walk along the shore of the West lake in the resort premise. At the back of my hotel room is the Leifang Pagoda and it only took me about 10 minutes walk. Even though my room was at the ground floor, there were no noises to be heard. Good security in and around the resort. Food at the restaurant is good with quite a variety for breakfast. Even the buffet for dinner is excellent. I will not hesitate to recommend my friends or relatives to stay in this resort. And I will stay in this resort if I am going back to Hangzhou again next year. The hotel staff are also

This is a beautiful green (like a garden) resort that covers a wide area on the lake shore. It is well guarded and usually used for state visits. The hotel is connected to chinese military, so you see sometimes guards marching, which gives it a wonderful typical chinese tough.

The hotel is separated in houses/villas in between restaurant buildings, tea houses, greenery. It is wonderful and super safe to walk around also in evenings, directly to the lake shore, take a boat ride (its cheaper if you are a hotel guest).

Right next to the resort is a famous sight (tower) where you can go up (40RMB per person).

Inside the resort you can ride little vehicles driven by the staff.

The rooms are lovely, we had a double room with king size bed with a little living room area, fresh fruit, free premium tea as gift, bathrobes, slippers, quality L'occitane products. Very friendly personnel.

Breakfast is mostly Chinese style but good selection and a few pastries, Western style and salad bar.

Restaurants are very delicious as well with a good selection.

A/C in room can be made as cold as you like! no centralized system.

Room Tip: bigger double bed king size room with living room area is really spacious.
