Excellent location for visiting Kyoto and its surroundings. The hotel is a convenient one: clean, good services (though doesn't offer breakfast nor has its own restaurant), small room and a small bath, it is just a cross the street from Kyoto Train Station. There are many places to eat, have good coffee or just a drink in that area. Moreover, the buses departing to any tourist destination are located in front of the hotel.
The hotel doesn’t offer a local Japanese ambience, on the contrary, it is more an impersonal place for international visitors (tourist, not business oriented), however, it offers a very convenient location as well as clean and safe premises.

The rooms are small by western standards - but a pretty decent size by Japanese standards. The amenities are a very nice brand with royal jelly and a sweet, non-floral scent.

Don't expect a view - the window was frosted and opened onto a small, dark space between the buildings. But the location of this hotel is excellent - directly across the street from Kyoto Station and next door to the sky tower. Lots of great restaurants in the area and even one (and a coffee shop) in the building. Breakfast is available for an additional charge.

The staff are very friendly and English is available, but limited. Check in and check out (10am) time is strictly observed. Late check out (1pm) is available for an additional 30% - no option for an 11 or 12 check out - stay beyond 10 and you are paying the charge.

Non-smoking rooms available.

The hotel is opposite the bus and train station. The room was very clean and the staff were very professional and excellent! Staff were ready to help out with any questions you had. I had to reprint my presentation and the business centre in the hotel has PC and colour printer. The printing was free of charge, something that you do not find in hotels in Europe. Hotel is in good location for transport needs, train, bus and taxis and shops. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Opposite the train station, other side of the local bus station

Across the road from Kyoto bus station, making transport really easy. Lots of restaurants close by at the bus station. You can walk into the centre of town, or it’s a short bus ride away. The room was spotlessly clean and staff were efficient. We really enjoyed our stay!

Just across from the Kyoto Railway station, Hotel Hokke Club Kyoto is in an ideal location. Clean and comfortable with reasonable sized rooms. Close to many cafes and underground eating areas. On my first day it was raining and instead of travelling out of Kyoto, I spent the day walking around the station area. The Nishi-Honganji and Higashi -Honganji Temples are spectacular and there are interesting shops on the approach to the temples selling a range of temple related items. Well worth a browse. The nearby Umekoji Park is a lovely park to stroll around and it has a Railway Museum in it. I didn't go in but I watched the old steam train and then followed the path near the train line which takes you to back to Kyoto station. An interesting a varied day out.
