A unique experience. Traditional setting, trendy and young and with typical Japanese cooking. A bit difficult to find, but a lot of pleasure. Menu in English. Try it!

Visiting a real, local izakaya was one of the key things I wanted to do when visiting Japan. We stumbled across this by chance in Kyoto and were very happy we did! Excellent food with a wide ranging menu and a large drinks selection including great (and large!) beers. I would recommend booking - this is primarily a locals place so there were not many tourists. We turned up in the evening but it was full, the waiter kindly told us to come back in 1 hour and he had a great seat at the bar saved for us. Highly recommended!

Very good food. Very friendly hostess. Great authentic experience and well priced. What more could you ask for? I would recommend their yakitori, fried gyoza and shumai.

This bar is located in a quieter street in Kyoto, just cross the bus station outside and walk around 7 minutes.
It has no sign outside,it's in a quiet laneway near the parking and look for curtains in red and white outside.
Reservation is required or else you have to wait, but it's worth.
Very friendly staff and chef, who talks to you from time to time.
Great service and food is just tasty.
Had grilled fish, mushroom wrapped in foil,so beautiful...just amazing.
Went on with karage chicken, grilled capsicum and just winderful flavours.
Dumplings were so delicious too.
Great experience in Japan sitting at a bar where cooking is live.
Definitely recommended when in Kyoto.

Our favourite. Difficult to find, but what nice place to dine at. Jus like we had imagined a typical japanese restaurant. And the food was very good.
