located down a side street this non descript eatery is more substance than style. With its plastic chairs and portable heaters stationed throughout the restaurant. We ordered the Terriaki chicken pizza which was deliciously topped on a wonderful base. Our teenagers ordered the bolongnase dish and for dessert we enjoyed the tiramasu and creme brulae which was also great value at 700yen. The alcohol prices were quite reasonable and the English speaking service prompt and friendly.

We went here based on the trip adviser reviews and it was lovely. Great Italian guy owns it so they know what they are doing. We all had pizza and everyone was happy. Wine was great too. Good place to get an excellent feed.

The pizza was DELICIOUS. The fact that I got to see it made by the Italian chef made it even yummier!!! The pizza was pretty small. Would recommend as a meal to have yourself. Not share. The pasta I had was INCREDIBLE. Prices were worth it for the amazing food. Service was okay, the Japanese guy working was busy as and walked away from us in the middle of ordering as people came to the door. Would go back again!

My wife and I stumbled upon Goichi Pizza through Yelp and TA when looking for a place to eat in Kyoto. We were staying between the downtown area and Kyoto station, so this came along the way when walking back to our hotel. We both have dietary restrictions (pescetarian and no alcohol in our food), so pizza and pasta was the way to go. This place definitely gets beyond 5 stars for the service--the owner came up to us and once we told him about our restrictions, he even offered to make a pasta that wasn't on the menu (pasta arrabiata), which turned out great. We also ordered a spicy pizza (I think it was called Mexican pizza)--I would give this a 4/5. It was good, but the crust was a bit too floppy and the ingredients were kind of falling off. I think had we ordered the margherita pizza, we probably would have liked it better. The atmosphere is nice and cozy as well.

Bottom line: pretty solid food, great service. Definitely give it a try.

Hmmm. 4/5 for quality, 2/5 for quantity. It's a pretty small pizza for ¥1800 and a 'large beer' (300ml) for ¥600 is too pricey. Nice staff.
