My daughter insisted to see the place even though it was raining on that day. Nonetheless we didn’t have much problem reaching the place via subway train. From the moment we entered the park I knew that we will have a great time in it. Walking through long paths with its lush greenery is a relaxing time in spite of the weather. We were so surprised to see crowds of people entering the castle ground by the hundreds and mostly taking photos for their memoirs. There’s also a building where you can find a number of food stalls and restaurants to replenish your energy after a long walk around the park. Clean public toilets are also available around the park for your convenience.
Osaka Museum of History is just outside of the park for another point of interest for relic lovers.
Don’t miss this amazing place if you visit Osaka!
The castle gives you a pretty great view from the city. But the museum inside is not that interesting or worth it, as almost everything is in Japanese. But take take an hour and a half to walk around the park, take a picture of the castle from the outside and enjoy some street food! There's plenty of vendors set up through out the park. Not much else to do in the area. About a 12 min walk from the nearest subway station.
I learned quite a lot about their history, and their files are very good with detailed explanations.
The holographic story telling of Hideyoshi's life is also nice to watch.
Worth seeing. Hot tip: There's a little window just past the check in counter on the left saying "English Tours". There's usually a student there hoping to practice his English - gave us a fantastic tour, for free, of the whole place!
