The Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel is part of Japan's tallest building, the Abeno Harukas, which promises excellent views of its bubbling home city and its surrounding. Our room at the 51st floor kept this promise and we faced Namba and Umeda - even from our beds.
The room's size was absolutely sufficient although the proportions could have been planned more efficiently and sometimes we had difficulties stowing our belongings properly, as some space for storage was missing. The bathroom and the bathing amenities which were availble in pleasant abundancy were a very positive surprise and guaranteed a wonderful start into the day.
For the service, one must say that the welcome was very warm and friendly, whereas the goodbye felt a little cold due to its shortness. As we did not book any extra services as breakfast or club lounge access, we are unable to judge service more thoroughly.
Probably the hotel's most striking advantage is its very convenient location. Abeno Harukas is located right above Tenoji station, which provides endless transportation options including direct trains to Umeda, Namba and Shin-Osaka stations, as well as Kansai airport, Kyoto and Nara. Furthermore, it is home to several department stores, such as Kintetsu whose basement floors can be named a foodie paradise without a doubt! Even BAKE has its own branch there - we are sure for those familiar with this mouth-watering source of Hokkaido cheese tart that is already a huge plus. For us the ultimate reason for our five points :-)
