“Convincing view, convenient location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 week ago

The Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel is part of Japan's tallest building, the Abeno Harukas, which promises excellent views of its bubbling home city and its surrounding. Our room at the 51st floor kept this promise and we faced Namba and Umeda - even from our beds.

The room's size was absolutely sufficient although the proportions could have been planned more efficiently and sometimes we had difficulties stowing our belongings properly, as some space for storage was missing. The bathroom and the bathing amenities which were availble in pleasant abundancy were a very positive surprise and guaranteed a wonderful start into the day.

For the service, one must say that the welcome was very warm and friendly, whereas the goodbye felt a little cold due to its shortness. As we did not book any extra services as breakfast or club lounge access, we are unable to judge service more thoroughly.

Probably the hotel's most striking advantage is its very convenient location. Abeno Harukas is located right above Tenoji station, which provides endless transportation options including direct trains to Umeda, Namba and Shin-Osaka stations, as well as Kansai airport, Kyoto and Nara. Furthermore, it is home to several department stores, such as Kintetsu whose basement floors can be named a foodie paradise without a doubt! Even BAKE has its own branch there - we are sure for those familiar with this mouth-watering source of Hokkaido cheese tart that is already a huge plus. For us the ultimate reason for our five points :-)

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing north (Umeda, Namba). Definitely worth the effort :-)

The staff are extremely helpful: the bell captain helped us to transport our 5 pieces of lugguage right to the airport bus stop. Check-in and check-out are very efficient too. For value of money, do try to book a room with free lounge access. With the snacks and drinks served, you almost don't need to go outside for dinner, which might be a plus or minus, depending on how you see it.

The hotel is located at a very convenient location, it is just above a major rail station (Tenoji) and the shopping mall provides good choices of food. The hotel lobby is on the 19th floor. The guest room have a fantastic view! It feels spacious, modern and really comfortable. The staff we met are very helpful. Compared with other hotels of similar grading in the more central part of Osaka, I consider this one very valued for money. Certainly, I will come here again in future.

This is an immaculate hotel with a helpful staff in a convenient location (right next to Tennoji Station). Rooms are way above average. Services are as expected for a high-end establishment. Concierge desk helped us not only book a 3-star Michelin restaurant from the US, but also suggested an informal and fun robatayaki place for the next night when we were onsite.

Direct train from Kansai Airport as well as 2 subway lines and 2 separate commuter lines.

Only downside is that breakfast is $35, and early-opening breakfast spots are tough to find in the neighborhood.
