Firstly, as advertised - the apartment is very small but the basics are all covered. It is clean and well maintained. We had a few issues with the toilet and washing machine but after a few whatsapp messages back and forth maintenance was promptly organised and the issues fixed. Very happy with the top service there.
There were no real issues with pests. Only a slight issue with ants that seemed to come out of nowhere whenever any open uncovered food was left on the dining table. We had to throw away some food when this happened the first time.
Security is quite good with no access to the building except via secure guard protected entrances. Swipe cards are needed to access the floor.
The only issue was that we needed to alight from Level 8 on one block (A) and walk through to the lifts in block (B) in order to continue on to the level our apartment was located. This was a bit of an inconvenience when we were coming and going many times. Also the gym and pool were in block A which meant having to do this shuffle with the kids every time we went to the pool and went back to the room.
The apartment is located very conveniently in the Bukit Bintang precinct and is truly surrounded by shopping centers. A short walk (< 5 mins) leads to the main Bukit Bintang strip where Pavilion Mall is and plenty of shops for the shopaholic in you. We also walked through to the KLCC walkway bridge which connects the Pavilion and KLCC via a pedestrian walkway. It was largely air conditioned and made it really convenient to get to KLCC from where we were!
There are cheap street food stalls located very close to the apartment along Lorong Walter Grenier. They serve a combination of mamak, malay and indian foods.
There are plentiful food shops both within and also on the outsides of the Lot 10 shopping center and also Sungei Wang plaza. These cater for almost every palate.
Jalan Alor is a short walk from where we are located so there are plenty of food options there too although I found the food a bit touristy and unauthentic.
Now for a few small cons:
The pool on the rooftop is in need of repair. There were literally hundreds of small pool tiles that had been dislodged from the walls and floor of the pool and were just laying on the pool floor. Subsequently this made the floor a bit treacherous to step on and my kids hurt their toes several times. One would imagine that water seeping into the walls and floor could not be very good for the structural integrity of the pool either! The metal pool step rail was also extremely flimsy and the bottom step had broken off. It just seemed like a very cheaply built pool tbh.
Another con was not being able to go directly up to our floor from the ground floor. This was quite an inconvenience after a few days.
The fridge was ample for our needs however it has seen better days and water was pooling at the bottom inside of the fridge due to a leak. The air conditioner in the master bedroom was not working but we didn't really need it as the living room a/c was powerful enough for the whole apartment floor space. However the remote control sometimes would not work at all and the a/c was stuck at whatever setting it was last set to. This meant waking up in the middle of the night sometimes to manually turn the a/c off if it got too cold! After several hours it would be steamy hot in the room in the mornings. This was quite annoying.
It wasn't very clear where rubbish from our full bins were to be thrown. Initially the security guards were of some help and told us there was a "rubbish/sampah" room on the ground floor right beside 7/11. Subsequently we found out that there was a large green bin located on each floor just inside the stairwell.
Tbh also the view from outside our window was not really the best. It overlooked some side streets and some very old decrepit low level buildings that had living quarters at the top level.
All in all, for a quick getaway in a very convenient location I would definitely recommend this place especially if you're planning on spending almost all your time exploring KL.
