When was the last time you dined at Chili's Malaysia, any of their outlet for that matter? It's been a while since I tried their fares hence it was nice to find out they have launched their latest Dinner Special & Socials at Chili’s promotion which is real value for money. How much do you save? Well, from only RM35.95, you get a choice of either salad or soup to start you off, one hearty main course and a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. Now that's what I call value for money!
Before we get into the heavy mains and what nots, we kicked off our meal with Chili's new Socials menu which is basically yummy starters available for order throughout the day. Do note they are currently available for a limited time only from 27th May till 22nd July 2017.
Creamy Jalapeño Wings & Chili Garlic Wings
Wings, they can literally fly if you want them too. Who doesn't love themselves some scrumptious chicken wings. We tried two vastly different flavours, the Creamy Jalapeño Wings which is on the spicy side, and the Chili Garlic Wings which I truly like! Why? It's just so flavourful with chile-garlic sauce, resting on creamy avocado crema, sprinkled crumbled feta cheese and fresh cilantro. Must try if you're craving for some delicious chicken wings as starters.
The Dinner Special at Chili’s consists of soup or salad, a delectable main course and a scoop of vanilla ice cream to end it all. There's three sets of pricing to choose from, either the RM35.95, RM40.95 or the RM43.95 one. Do note that the Dinner Specials are only available after 6pm from 27th May till 22nd July 2017. Let's have a look at the choices of soup, salad and ice cream first below, before we head on to the heavy stuff, the MAINS!
The MAINS! RM35.95 Dinner Special Combo
For RM35.95, on top of the soup, salad and ice cream, you get a combo of the delectable and crispy Country Fried Chicken, or the Boneless Buffalo Chicken Salad. How did it taste? For one, I love how the crispy chicken breast tasted, hand battered and deep fried to a crisp on the outside. This dish comes with mashed potatoes and sweet corn on the side. This combo comes with the Boneless Buffalo Chicken Salad, so you could actually share these!
For the same price of RM35.95 combo, you could go for the Firecracker Fish Fillet dish. Beautiful. We had a whole slab of grilled white dory fillet brushed with sweet & spicy glaze and garnished with red chile tapenade & sesame seeds. Served with rice and seasonal veggies, you got yourself a complete, healthy meal over there. Why is it named Firecracker? Must be the red chile tapenade on top of the fish.
RM40.95 Dinner Special Combo Mains
Tortillas lovers would do good to go for their signature Southwestern Quesadillas Combo. Inside these tortillas, we have a yummy combination of marinated chicken and beef with grilled onions and Jack cheese. Dip it into the sour cream and house-made pico de gallo, and you're good to go!
Burgers! Get me one, or more of these sinful delights. The Sweet & Smokey Burger came looking absolutely drool-worrhy, where we had these hand-seasoned beef patty topped with Pepper Jack cheese, beef bacon, onion rings, leaf lettuce, tomato, mango-infused BBQ sauce & Chili’s Signature sauce. Even the bread looks good albeit, it was a bit on the hard side when bitten into. Served with house-made garlic dill pickles, homestyle fries and a side of mango-infused BBQ sauce, this makes a good meal by itself. But don't forget that with a price of RM40.95 you're getting those extra soup, salad and ice cream! What a deal!
RM43.95 Dinner Special Combo
Chipotle Prawn Fresh Mex Bowl
Prawns, lots of it in a bowl. The Chipotle Prawn Fresh Mex Bowl consists of marinated grilled prawns, corn & black bean salsa, rice & chipotle pesto. It is then topped with cheddar cheese, house-made pico de gallo, fresh field greens, chopped cilantro, crispy tortilla strips, fresh sliced avocado & a drizzle of cumin-lime sour cream. What a blast of flavours in one bowl of noms.
Southwestern Grilled Lamb
Looks good doesn't it? Although I would have preferred my beef steak, the Southwestern Grilled Lamb did good as well. Grilled lamb with Chili’s special marinade, served with mashed potatoes with black pepper gravy and seasonal veggies, one of my favourite mains that evening.
