We ate here as a family group on a mid-week evening. We only made reservations earlier that day and were accommodated only hours later.
The restaurant is well situated, on an accessible street, but one that is fairly quiet in the evening, allowing the restaurant to create an atmosphere of relative serenity in a relatively well-populated area. The quality wooden furniture, inclusion of bamboo in the general décor, and the floor-level aquarium, definitely add to this relaxed atmosphere.
The food was interesting and generally, well executed, and the service was friendly and efficient.
The lamb was definitely a highlight of our meal, being perfectly cooked and presented, and the salad was fresh and delicious (which is not a regular occurrence in the Philippines). I also went for the oven poached lapu lapu in broth, which was initially very tasty, although the amount of broth was a bit too large, so the experience got a bit ‘samey’ towards the bottom… (possibly make it smaller and let the diner finish it on a high?) . The deserts, which are never my favourite part of a meal, were good, enough so that I tried them all, although I probably had higher expectations of the matcha ice cream than was delivered, as I couldn’t really taste the matcha. (Be a bit more bold)
Did I mention the wine list? I should do… it's one of the best around I would say, making the restaurant worth visiting on this factor alone.
I would recommend Ninyo as a good place to eat for a special family occasion, or a romantic evening meal, and I would happily eat here again.
