We've stayed there during 30 July - 6 August 2017. The experience is unforgettable. The food is of very good quality and variety. Animation team is amazing, night shows very interesting. Sea bay is easy reachable and comfortable. The only small shortcomings were some dirty stuff swimming in the sea during the time when there were waves (probably coming from nearby pier). I would only recommend to reduce techno music during night discos and add more pop music to attract more people to the dancing floor. Otherwise, I would only say big THANKS to the whole crew of the hotel !!!

Out of this world setting and hotel, fab room. Lovely people, downsides for us where the having to get up at 7am for a sunbed. We discovered guests were paying Turkish workers to put towels down prior to 7am! Sini restaurant (the main buffet restaurant) is like a canteen. Food very Turkish, cold and tasteless. Due to it being a bank holiday in turkey whist we were there - the hotel was 90% Turkish - only a handful of English. Music very loud from 4pm if you sit on the jetty. Aja (Japanese ) restaurant is fantastic but is an extra cost. Italian restaurant is lovely and the staff are excellent.
I would like to say a massive thank you to Ipek (Operations Manager) and Mustafa who were so helpful and kind.

We spent two weeks at the beginning of July for a family holiday with our 21 year old. We had visited the hotel last year, but for only a few nights and felt we hadn't had the opportunity to really appreciate what was on offer. Hence our return visit.

The hotel has it all. It is situated in a lovely bay, and affords wonderful views, a wonderful large freeform swimming pool, a stunning sandy beach, jetties to sunbathe on, an island to wander around, cabanas for those who want to be alone, a water sports centre, volleyball court, botcha, darts, children's area restaurants, great bars, chill out zones and amazing gardens, which incidentally are kept so beautifully.

We visited all the restaurants and we did very much enjoy the Aja teppanyaki restaurant, followed closely by the Italian and the Lebanese. The food in every restaurant was superb. It is lovely to be able to have the variety and change of scene. I don't think I could have coped with just the buffet restaurant every evening. What lets the buffet down is not the food or the manic business of it, but sadly a high proportion of clientele who do not think it appropriate to dress for dinner. I believe the hotel should have strict rules about dress code and apply these regardless. They also need to stop children running around the tables or parents allowing them to watch cartoons on ipads very loudly; this is actually extremely rude to other diners. Perhaps a family area would be better? I also find it very irritating when you queue for food and then someone has the rudeness to just push in front of you. Manners were a little thin on the ground with a lot of guests. The food however was more than acceptable....certainly plenty of choice, fresh and I defy anyone who couldn't find something they like. Prepare to gain weight!! We thoroughly enjoyed lunch at the Zeytin Restaurant most lunchtimes with great views across the sea and lovely lovely food! Thoroughly enjoyed the kebabs, salads and pide's!! We didn't require a large buffet meal, so this was more than adequate.

The bars are all great, all different. Good top quality drinks and poured correctly....no silly small measures! The beach bar is great, and the staff there are fun! During the morning they arrive at your sunbed with a detox juice, or in the afternoon with a fruit smoothie with ice cream or freshly cut slices of watermelon. A lovely touch and always delivered with a smile from two of the beach bar members of staff. What a shame this didn't happen as frequently around the pool. The lobby bar is lovely to watch the sun go down over the water and is a more serene and calm area. This bar should be made adults only! The See and Sea bar is a daytime bar, but more importantly the evening bar where the entertainment is at. The Mojito bar is lovely for that "end of your pool/beach day" drink or early evening drinks before dinner. Really chilled and elevated slightly amongst the pine trees. Good mojitos too!! :) And very pleasant staff.

Cleanliness around the hotel resort is excellent. There were several occasions where the toilets near the mojito bar and the lower level lobby by the restaurant were not kept to a high standard and had run out of toilet paper etc. Aside from that, it was very clean in almost all areas.

We had a two bedroom suite. Although this was probably aimed at young families, it worked well for us, with our adult son with us. To pay for a double room for sole occupancy is always so expensive and this was the best way to keep to a budget. In any case, how long are you honestly in your room?? The suite was totally fine, our room had a lovely view across to the island and two separate "suites" with en suite bathrooms.

The layout of the hotel is great. If you don't like walking, or you don't like steps this may not be the place for you. However, they do run a bus shuttle around the resort. It's great fun and almost all of the drivers are hilarious and jolly and have a real giggle with you!!!! We just loved it! It's a great way to see the wonderful views from up high and to see the layout of the entire resort. Sometimes there's a wait for the bus, but you're on holiday, chill out!!! I would sometimes wait for the bus with a lovely chilled mojito.....perfect! Go for a walk...so much to see, so many lovely views, so many areas of tranquility away from everyone. Just lovely to have the feeling of space and not feel claustrophobic like many hotels across the world. The little Bodrum "street" was just adorable!

We enjoyed the company of a few of the entertainment staff working at the hotel. In particular Ozzy, who sadly left the hotel whilst we were there. Also Sahin who started working at Rixos whilst we were there and was a real gentleman, and Ocan who worked tirelessly in Turkish and English to keep everyone aware of what was happening! What a happy man he was! It was sometimes a real difficulty to get other guests to join in with some of the light games during the day, but us Brits all joined in!! Also would like to mention the Entertainments Manager who was a delight to talk to (forgive me, I forget his name) and always very professional, along with Emir from Guest Relations. We did have an issue with a member of staff over several days and we made these managers fully aware of what was going on. It was dealt with professionally.

The biggest disappointment for our family was the degree of rudeness from some guests. English people generally are taught to be polite, to say please and thank you, to say good morning and smile. Yet we found a lot of the guests, of other nationalities, spoke to the members of staff appallingly and even more astonishing, they could not bring themselves to say thank you when their drink or food was served to them, not even a smile or acknowledgement. I personally found this very upsetting and quite demeaning for staff; it's hardly surprising some of the staff didn't always smile. I don't think I could work somewhere and be treated like that by the guests, Am I missing something? Is this just a cultural thing?? Nobody deserves to be treated like that, regardless of job. But how do you as a hotel stop that? People should be grateful that they are able to stay in such a beautiful hotel in beautiful surroundings....so many others could only ever dream of that.

Entertainment in the evenings was varied. The shows in the amphitheatre were good and those at the Sea and See Bar were very much catered for the Turkish guests, which, although was understandable as they represented probably 75% of the population in the hotel, it would have been nice to have had an evening where perhaps it was a little more European. Maybe a dj playing European club music to get other nationalities up and dancing, or even engaged in the evening. It did become quite repetitive for two weeks! The Cuban evening was fantastic!

There are two or three people that stood out for us at Rixos. The two girls working at the Mojito bar in the evenings (Aylin especially). She knew what we wanted and always served our drinks with a smile and made polite conversation. We remembered her from last year, and she was so pleased to see us. She could not have been more pleasant, professional and engaging. If you do commend your staff, she definitely deserves a mention. Also working the outside area of the buffet restaurant, a captain called Urkahn or Hakan. He literally did not stop working or running around. I do think that many other staff members should follow his lead, as there were some who were a little lazy, did not use initiative and could not even smile. He literally did the work of about 5 people; he was like a whirlwind! Finally a lovely lovely man who went around the pool cleaning the ashtray pots (I believe he was deaf), but he always had a smile for us every single morning and did his very best to communicate to us....what a gentle kind man.

We had a lovely two week holiday, and aside from the few niggles above, we would definitely return without hesitation; maybe with a group of friends next time. We love Turkey.....we have been coming to Turkey every summer for the past 13 years so we are huge supporters but would like a little more variety at the See and Sea Bar to please all nationalities/guests.

Thank you to everyone, from the management, to the kitchen and waiting staff, the gardeners, the cleaners, the entertainment team and the bus drivers (!!!).....its a collaborative effort to make someones holiday special and everyone deserves a mention. Apologies for the lengthy review! We hope to see you all again soon.

Room Tip: Up high affords the best views! But you will need to use a lot of steps or wait for the resort bus to get down to pool / restaurant level!

Literally, one of the best hotels I have ever been to. And I have been to a lot of hotels, this hotel is fancy, the service is amazing. All-inclusive in the real meaning of the word. Each restaurant is better than the other. The pools!! the beach was amazing, the team at the hotel. The entertainment shows were sooo good!! cleanliness, luxury, food, variety of things to do, we really didnt leave the hotel I highlyyyy recommend.
