We stayed in the Harmony Suite and I loved it! Very large comfortable bed, nice touches like shade grown organic coffee, old books and board games, a fully stocked kitchen and a gnome statue! Beautiful and eclectic decor with a warm feeling. I can't say enough great things about this Inn.

Thank you Michelle for your kind words! We are so glad you enjoyed our home. Please visit again next year! Did you know the 2017 Oregon Shakespeare Festival season play list has already been announced?

Very good, the Viener schnitzel was outstanding and the stroganoff was fantastic. If your looking for an authentic Austrian dish this is the place to go. I also loved the potato salad and pickled cucumbers.

Note: This review is for a different business entirely! We are not a restaurant and sadly, we do not serve delicious Austrian food.

and we keep coming back. Delaunay House is perfect for theatre goers, just a short walk away. We always choose the small downstairs suite, Peace Pilgrim. The little kitchenette is great for coffee and toast in the morning. If we feel like a more substantial breakfast, Ruby's is two doors away. Sometimes landing a close parking space is tough but we always manage.

We stayed in the large suite at The Delaunay House in October. The rooms were spacious and warm. The kitchen is positively delightful - lots of space and light and everything you could possibly need to set the elegant dining table. I especially enjoyed the antique stoves and vintage décor. As for the location, it couldn't have been more ideal. Everything was an easy walk which was worth it's weight in gold. The large bedroom has a darling fire place which made the ambiance even more cozy. Has a real welcoming "home-feel" to it. I was sorry to read one review where the person left their door open for other people to walk through. When the door is closed, the other guests can go around the hallway and it's not an issue. Lovely place - highly recommended.

Thank you Sara! So glad that you discovered the joy of setting a beautiful table in the dining room. The fireplace does make for a romantic, cozy experience. Hope to see you again in 2017!

We were here for an entire week in the fall in the tiniest room, The Pioneer Suite, I think it was called. It is a very small room, with the weirdest bathroom ever. The sink is beyond tiny (triangle shape) tucked in the corner of a room with a newer tub/shower (that was the good part!) and the toilet opposite the sink. There was a minuscule mirror above the sink that was very old and toiletries could not be stored there - not one travel bottle would even fit, forget about toothbrushes or other items. There was literally no other place in the bathroom to put anything, except the rim of the tub, and for obvious reasons, that was not acceptable. We ended up putting our toiletries on the counter in the kitchenette (but that meant we couldn't cook or prepare heat up food, both of which we wanted to do.) The toaster oven and microwave shared one outlet which was located behind and below the microwave (hard to reach) and they couldn't be used simultaneously. The fridge was a dorm-type fridge but that was not the problem. There was a little cooktop but that would have to be put on the countertop where our toiletries were so we gave up on trying to cook at all. The room itself had old furniture that actually was charming as they were clearly antiques. The bed was comfortable, but the comforters and pillows smelled dirty and moldy, as did every "soft" fabric in the room. The swag over the tub was filmed with dust and very dirty. The little table was beyond tiny (not even 24" diameter) and it had two old chairs that were terribly uncomfortable because they were so small. They looked cute but were basically unusable. The closet which was not even two feet wide had so much cleaning stuff (vacuum, broom, heater, mop) that there was no place to hang clothes and the two big drawers in the wall held extra blankets so those were also not available to put clothes in either. No place to hang clothes, no place to put suitcases and the room was not big enough for us to simply store them on one side or the other of the bed. We did find the owner of the house to be beyond helpful and responsive and she tried to make things right (the night we checked in the sink would not drain, and the young woman who came to clean the next day told us that someone had been sick in the sink a few days before and that's why it didn't work. Lovely!!!
Typically my husband is oblivious to these types of things, but he noticed that the room was dirty, the bedding mildewy and he was not happy during our stay. So, if you book this suite as part of a group and someone else has the big kitchen in the other part of the house for you to use, it might be okay. But, if you want to stay longer than a couple of days, or want to cook, or want a place that, while old, is meticulously maintained and clean, this is not the location for you.

We did love the location as we were little more than a block away from the OSF theatres. That's what saved our stay, but we won't be coming again, that's for sure.
Take a look at the photos before you book.

Room Tip: We did peek in the other rooms and they certainly appeared cleaner and were definitely larger. All that needs to be done to make this place rent-able is: make the closet and all drawers available for guests, clean all the soft fabrics (pillows, swags, comforters, blankets), put shelving in the bathroom for toiletries, store cleaning supplies somewhere else, and clean everything after each guest departs, including the refrigerator.

We are very sorry you had a less than perfect experience, it's 2016 now and we have excellent housekeeping staff, new rugs and bedding, as well as other touches like free wifi and luggage rack. We do have one very small room usually for single and budget travelers, you can try one of our other roomy suites next time. We always get 5 stars for those.
We do hope you will try again next time your are planning to visit Ashland. The 2017 Season has just been announced. Thank you.
