MCM Elegante Suites
Ranked #14 of 37 Hotels in Abilene

I did not stay in this hotel, just attended a conference here. The panel rooms were small and either very cold or very hot. The worst part was that the catering service is inept. For a luncheon scheduled to begin at 11:45, the food was not put onto the buffet line until after noon. This meant that the program was cut short and we all had to eat in a hurry to get to the 1:00 panel. The same thing happened at the luncheon on the last day. It was scheduled from noon to 2:00, with the business meeting and program taking an hour at least. The food was not put out until 12:40. Many people, including me, had to leave at 2:00 and so missed the program entirely. The first luncheon was held in a panel room and so the number of people who could attend was limited. The second was held in a large open area that echoed, making it difficult to hear the speakers.
The floors are very uneven Mexican tile so be careful where you step. They also never look clean.
A good point, they have a Happy Hour from 5-7 pm, though the bar does not open until 5:30 or so. The drinks are free for hotel guests.
Be aware that this chain is for Christians only as they have a large stone monument to the Protestant version of the Ten Commandments prominently displayed.

Room Tip: The suites open onto a large area that is used for loud events. Ask for a quiet room.

Thank-you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. I would like to clear up a couple inconsistencies in your post so as to not confuse future guests. The banquet issues that were cited were necessary due to last minute changes made by the meeting planner and the luncheon delay was discussed with the meeting planner at that time. Also, while Mexican tile is not perfectly level, it is a great point for ladies wearing heels. Our lounge opens daily at 4:00 p.m. with the exception of Sundays when it is closed. Our complimentary beverages begin at 5:30 p.m. and is an amenity for guests staying with us. Yes, the ten commandments are displayed in our front atrium, however we have never in any way discriminated due to the nationality or beliefs of our guests or even the team members working for us. We have and will continue to enjoy people from around the world and hope to continue serving everyone.

Hotel is old but clean. There were people in parking lot that were climbing in and out of windows in room 135 and fighting in the parking lot. Odd that our window doesn't open. Seems like a fire issue? One friend tried the food and felt sick later. Will update tomorrow.

From check in to check out a professional and friendly staff are there to help you. I did have a couple of issues, the first room I was checked into had a terrible order almost to the point of gagging, but this was immediately corrected. The 2nd it is hard to charge against the hotel but the public access computer was not working and the staff were not able to help with that.

The welcome hospitality bar at the end of the day was more that worth the price of admission as was the made to order breakfast.

Room Tip: I don't think you can go wrong with whatever room you get.

Stayed here for a week for a business trip.

The rooms are very spacious and offer a nice setup for working and relaxing and the kitchenette is always a plus.

Room was clean and comfortable.

The only odd thing is the doors into the room were setup like French doors with heavy curtains. Privacy was fine but I did feel uneasy not having a solid door.

The breakfast food was very good and lunch and dinner was better than most hotels.

We have stayed here for vacation and business as well.
We love the rates they offer for business travelers as well as the amount of work they put into catered meetings for business.
There is a bar on the property if you like to grab some drinks and not have to worry about driving home. The breakfast is outstanding. This is one of our favorite parts.
The rooms are great, with a western theme.
We enjoy staying here and will stay here in the future.
