Description: With high-quality made-to-order burgers, a 'come as you are' environment and a strange reverence for Chuck Norris, there's no place else quite like Twisted Root. Way back before 'gourmet burgers' was a thing, Chefs Jason Boso & Quincy Hart decided to build a restaurant around half-pound, fresh ground burgers with a menu that allowed customers to build their own burgers with a list of crazy and inventive toppings. The two met in culinary school, after jobs in stock brokerages and telephone line repair. After paying their dues working the line at The Four Seasons & Pappas Bros, Jason & Quincy finally opened Twisted Root Burger Co. in the Deep Ellum neighborhood of Dallas, Texas in 2006. Twisted Root appeared on the second season of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives with Guy Fieri (2009) and suddenly Twisted Root was a dining destination in Dallas.

I have been here more times than I can remember. Lets face it, that's not because its a great place but because there isn't that many places to eat a burger around UTA. Is it better than the nearby Wendy's or Big M? Yes. Better be at their price. Is it really good? nope. Of major chains I'd take Fuddruckers any day. Part of this is also L-O-N-G lines (always!), way too loud inside if you want to carry out a conversation, and funky but not necessarily comfortable seating.

We were 20 people back in line. It took almost 30 minutes to order. Thin about that! One person slowly taking orders. The strawberry lemonade tasted like flavored water. I told the bartender, and he said he noticed that earlier too. He said he would tell the manager. Well, it never got fixed. We wasted a bunch of money on drinks because we don't drink Coke. They call out a character to pick up your order, which is cute. We were Big Foot. However, they leave a tip line on your credit card receipt. This baffles me. You wait forever to order and pick up your own food. I have no idea what you would tip them for. The burger itself was good. They cook them medium well unless you ask differently. Ours were medium and good. The fries were lukewarm, so that sucked. The atmosphere was great. However, it was a pretty awful experience.

Loved the atmosphere...roll up garage doors, Picnic tables, bar has a RV behind it, and TV's for your favorite sports! Many choices of burgers or build your own! Loved the French fries and watermelon iced tea!!

We go to twisted root once a month and really fun after church to watch a football game on there tv screens in a inclosed patio type setting. One of the best burger places in Arlington. Its right in downtown and close to AT&T stadium and Rangers game.
