The 1886 Cafe & Bakery offer, I️ think, the very best breakfast in town. We love the Eggs Benedict and huevos rancheros. Many great and freshly prepared items to choose for all tastes and the coffee is wonderful. It’s busy so reservations are advisable. Valet parking is available.

Huevos rancheros and pecan waffle in the shape of Texas is really really good! Service was good - sat outside in the lobby seats. Great people watching on a Friday morning- felt like Vegas. Lol

We went for lunch today:
The cheese soup was good but the brisket hash was a mixed bag.
The brisket lacked flavor(needed salt during cooking), was tough, the onions, potatoes
and peppers were tasty. The eggs were doused in salt.
Hash to me is ground cooked meat, not chunks of beef.
Will go elsewhere for lunch.

Stopped in for coffee and a treat. Sat down waited for over 10 minutes. Both a waiter and waitress passed us several times. Neither acknowledging us even saying hello.
After being passed and ignored yet again we got up and left. Passing the waitress who didn't even look at us. Left and went to voodoo doughnuts and got our treat.
