A dimly lit Italian restaurant that has been serving Old Town Alexandria for 39 years, Landini Brothers Restaurant has an extensive menu, specializing on Tuscan fare. Just when I thought I had figured out what I wanted from the menu, the waiter starting reciting a list of off menu specials that seemed longer than the actual menu. On his recommendation I tried the braised beef short rib on top of creamy risotto. It was tender and flavorful and a well appreciated tip. Others tried the 14 oz. bone in Veal Steak and had trouble finishing it – very rich and tender. Ceasar salads were fresh with crisp romaine lettuce. Good, yet affordable wines available. Expensive wines are too! This is a good choice if you want to have a large group – The place is quiet and they will put you in a private room where you can enjoy each other and enjoy a nice meal in an old Town Alexandria building.

Absolutely best food in town, can be pricey, especially on holidays. We go every XMas eve. Beef Wellington best I have ever had and we had it at Simpson’s in the Strand. Melted in your mouth. Tables are a bit close together, and can be noisy with stone walls but all in all worth the effort. Very knowledgeable wait staff. Daily specials and if you dint see what you want, just ask, chances are they wii prepare it for you. Not just an Italian restaurant either, great veal and pasta dishes. Veal chop is to die for.

The night had the best possible ending for a couple in love celebrating a birthday. First a delicious bottle of Red Cabernet Blend Double T wine with fantastic textured homemade Italian bread. Follow with Caesar and Piatta salads. Slow forward to just the right amount of time to relax in between meal courses. Main courses of delicate Rockfish with Angel Hair pasta and Calamari alla Luciana over al dente Linguini were cooked to perfection and delightful tasting. Of course the complimentary birthday Tiramisu was simply delicious and appreciated. Visit home... Score!

Had plans to visit some of the parks in DC unfortunately it was the weekend the government shutdown again. Decided to visit Old Town Arlington and ate at Landini Brothers. Great atmosphere with great authentic Italian. Great area to walk around and site see.

Super charming restaurant with the staff having accents and all. Not as many pasta options as I’d like but everything was excellent.
