Having lived in Ft Worth, TX, I am always hesitant to try steak elsewhere, but Hunting Creek was a pleasant surprise. Good cut selections, nice wine list, and great service. Highly recommend it.

4 of us dined at Hunting Creek and all of us enjoyed it thoroughly! We ate on the patio for dinner and it was lovely. Server was very friendly and attentive. Made suggestions form the menu. Two of us had steak and frites with Bernaise sauce. Steak was tender and frites were delicious. We all had Caesar salads which were good size and delicious.
One of us had curried shrimp and loved it. Another had fish over roasted asparagus. Nice wine selection. Desserts were delicious. We even requested an after dinner drink called a Grasshopper and the bar tender had never made one before, but he looked it up and made a couple of them with ice cream and they were delicious!

What could have been a delicious and impressive last night special dinner in Alexandria at Hunting Creek (highly recommended to us by our hotel's concierge)
turned out to be most disappointing.
Lovely setting, courtyard table, knowledgeable and professional server...
But a spectacular quality prime aged $38.00 filet mignon that was ordered to be medium rare, unseasoned , and farm-fresh asparagus and haricot vert beans were all ruined by a chef who doesn't know medium rare from medium, nor who trusts his ingredients enough to let them shine without drowning them all in salt!
Whatever happened to a "a delicate hand" in seasoning for the purpose of enhancing rather than overwhelming food?

Scallop entree was to be served with peas and asparagus. Expediter came to check on satisfaction with our meals. When we stated that the filet was overdone and over seasoned and also requested the missing peas, he seemed to nod in understanding, but no peas ever arrived. Server came next to offer a replacement filet which he indicated could arrive quickly. "Quickly" never materialized. A 2nd visit from server and 2nd check with chef now resulted with an offer of a replacement filet in two more minutes. No offer of replacing the over-seasoned vegetables was made.
Sadly the over-salted vegetable sides were nearly cold by then and my husband was not interested in even more waiting.

The "comped" filet really didn't make up for all these surprising deficits in this upscale-billed restaurant.

Looks like Hunting Creek has unfulfilled potential.

Outstanding! This cozy gourmet beef restaurant turned out to be a thoroughly delightful venue for this first-time visitor. Management seated us quickly even though they had no record of my reservation (fault of the reservation service, not theirs). GF and I shared a Capri Salad, she then had the steak salad and I had the beef tenderloin medallions (their beef is U.S.D.A. prime, our waiter noted). Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding. They have a very good fixed price offer where one can choose one appetizer, one entree, and one dessert from a pared-down menu selection for $39.00, which I would have selected but I have to keep away from desserts these days! Those who do not want beef can choose from among other items such as fish, seafood, pork chop and eggplant parm. As for value, price-wise, it corresponds favorably to prices for some of Old Town's other upscale places and compares even more favorably to upscale restaurants in D.C. Note: if you want a quieter table I recommend sitting upstairs.

The property is a little way from the main bustle of king street but it has a lovely courtyard and very nice food. Well worth the walk. We had the steaks and all cooked exactly to our orders.
Good wine selection and the staff were very attentive. We be back.
