I went to this hotel due to reviews on trip advisor I however was sourely dissapointed. The rooms seem very unsafe as you can see in the pictures the door is very easily opened as are simple shutters and even when travelling around Europe I would use a safe. I found that even as I arrived I had to ask for everything what the safe cost was, the wireless password (which although free does not work everywhere only in sections of the lobby!) what facilities were available. Some receptionists were very helpful and its a shame they work for this hotel. The hotel was almost empty and yet we were given a room with an extremely old and noisy air conditioning system when there were other standard rooms with new ones.We were at the hotel from the 12th to the 17th of May which is autumn in Brazil and the weather isnt even as hot as usual and even so the aircon still left the room very stuffy. The beds are old and uncomfortable. Even with everything not being as we wanted we decided to make the best of things and I didnt complain and tried gently to say the air con wasn't up to scratch. However one day I could not find the keys to the safe at the time I began to panic all my documents were there and I had no idea what happened to the key. I went to reception who said he could not help me there was not a master or other key. I asked him what I could do he casually said maybe he could get me a locksmith and could he have the catalogue of trips I had borrowed earlier in the day. I was desperate and that he offered no help really upset me. I eventually said he must call a locksmith. I presume I lost the key somewhere but the reaction of the hotel was so awfull also when the cost was initially quoted I was told it would be 120 reais then although a manager at the hotel was there in the room with the locksmith at the time I was charged 150 reais. My family is Brazilian and lives in Sao Paulo which is far more expensive and a locksmith at most would cost you 30 reais. I feel disgusted at the treatment of me and my boyfriend at the hotel and feel that the cost of opening that safe was daylight robbery. I feel for the female receptionists and bartenders at this hotel as they work very hard but feel the management let them down and the hotel down.

Room Tip: Do not go for a standard room and if you do insist you have one with a new air conditioning system.
