Great scene, sundown esp., but food is not worth problems of no change if paying cash to avoid the foreign exchange fee, no English speaker, go next store to the tapas bar and restaurant, view is just as good and they do not have a 2 tourist buses unload on their porch then to the back for dinner at sundown.

Straight from entering the premises, we had the distinct feeling that we weren't welcome at Pereira's. Of the three waiters who served our Table, not one showed a friendly or at least professional attitude, although the places was almost empty; Stress was therefore not an obvious issue. We both had the Filet Mignon which was cooked perfectly, whereas the vegetables and side dishes we're not really up to a higher level.
When it came to providing the necessary change for the bill, it took a suspiciously long time. Surprisingly, we didn't add anything to the already added 10% Service charge, resulting in even more miserable faces....Not recommended!

Originally tried this restaurant back in 2004 just after in first opened. It was great then it´s still great now.The combination of location, good food and atmosphere is hard to beat. Despite the earlier reviews about the service we found it to be excellent, ok a lot can depend on what time of night and what day you go .We went early Friday night i.e. 7.30pm and sat on the outside terrace with views across the bay.The place gets busy from about 9 with some of the weathier residents of Salvador and there is a good buzz about the place. There is a good menu and wine list and the food we had was very good. It´s also a great place just to have a drink and watch the sun go down and not too expensive.

Great place, great food, awesome view facing the ocean under a nice cool breeze provided by two natural trees (if you're sitting outside). Has indoor with AC, but me and the family (wife and 2 toddlers) opted for the fresh air and we had a blast. Food was very good and service was ok compared to other places in Salvador. We will definitely return!

The only good thing was the ocean view of the terrace. Service takes a lifetime after many requests at lunch when the restaurant is empty. I can't imagine how bad it could be when it is full.
