Great family time. The room is old, but it was clean and comfortable. The staff was very kind, but it took a little bit long to get the fireplace ready. Food was good, but the restaurant was closed very early (7pm). The hotel is a little bit far (15km) from downtown Petropolis, which could not be the best option if you want to take a rest during the day. So few exceptions for a nice stay.

The rooms are very simple, but the green area around the hotel is its best feature. There are horses, pigs, chickens, ducks and other animals, which is an entertainment to children. The hotel restaurant serves a good trio of fondue (cheese, meat and chocolate).
We didn't stay at this hotel, which is located on beautifully landscaped grounds, however as their fine restaurant is open to the public, and we live about 20 minutes away, we went there for Christmas lunch. We were greeted like VIP's by the owner, Renato, who put us in the capable hands of Marcos, who seems to be the sommelier/head waiter/manager. Under his superb guidance, we ordered two exceptionally great fish dishes with lovely accompaniments and a great bottle of wine, all at a reasonable price. We were very pleased, but unfortunately, had no room for dessert.
The hotel is beautiful. Rooms are extremely comfortable. Restaurant was a very tasty surprise. Sommelier Marcos is unique. Wines chosen were always befitting the wonderful meals and desserts. Service was impeccable from arrival to departure.
The hotel has beautiful grounds and is an excellent option for children aged 2-10. Odair (chef) and Marcos (manager) pamper the guests with excellent food and a superb wine selection...ask Odair to prepare something special and you will have a meal as good as any top restaurant in Rio for half the price. The hotel owner Renato is a keen polo player and has gorgeous houses for guests to ride. You also have a petting farm, games room and two swimming pools (one indoor heated). Only hour drive from Rio. We often go here whenwe want to escape from the Rio heat.
