We went rather late in the day, and as this is Brazilian winter, there was less to see than in the flowering season

Beautiful sceneries, animals and flowers and exotic trees.
Only 15 reais, nice way to spend a morning/ afternoon.
We decided to walk there and it wasn't too hard to find, lots of signs starting at Ipanema beach.

A veritable ecologic sanctuary with its lovely Imperial Palms and the home to 8.2 thousands species of plants. The King John VI of Portugal founded it in 1808 and his purpose was to acclimatize species like nutmeg, pepper, and cinnamon imported from the West Indies.
