I accidentally booked with another Che Lagarto hostel, but they sorted it out well. It's a franchise of hostels across Brazil and the rest of South America. The location of the hostel is near the beach and cheap enough restaurants. Safe. The staff were real friendly, always making everyone feel included. Free fast wi-fi. Good AC. Party hostel with free Caipirinhas every night. They offer tours (The City Tour (although pretty expensive) and the Favela Tour were really good). There were only a few English speakers when I was there, which wasn't the hostel's fault, and there wasn't much of a backpacker vibe, more of like a holiday hostel for Spanish speakers. The rooms were cleaned multiple times a day, although the toilet in my room didn't smell good. The free breakfast was decent, it could be better (no protein and the cakes weren't that good). And my room was in a separate building in front of the hostel, which was pretty isolated. Overall, it was a good stay!More
