A group of friends spent four nights and days in Beautiful Blumenau, SC, Brasil. I found the hotel very nice. For Americans it is not like U.S. Hotels but it isn't in U.S. Very clean and helpful staff. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh fruits, breads, meats, cheeses, and other dishes. Walking distance to some attractions. I would be happy to stay here again.

Beautiful location for the octoberfest and parks, but quite a walk to the city centre. Friendly staff, fine breakfast, spotless rooms, reasonably priced. Restaurant in the park nearby. Wifi available.

Room Tip: high up, for peace and a view

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights (on Xmas and boxing day) and booked a bedroom for 2 couples and a baby aged 2. Although there were 6 single beds instead of 2 double beds and 1 single, it was divided in two different rooms with the bathroom in between, giving privacy to either couple, which was nice. They have no crib. There are TV and air conditioning on each room, the bathroom has a domestic shower, which in Brazil means it may not get hot enough in the winter. The breakfast is good considering what the hotel charges, but make sure to get there as early as possible. Although it is served between 7 and 10am, if you get there after 9am quite a few items will not be there any longer and they do not replace them. On our last day, we got at the restaurant at 9:15 and they had run out of scrambled eggs, cake (there was only one type available) and waffles. There is no butter available (only margarine).
They kindly let us use their kitchen to wash baby bottles and the microwave to sterilise them. There are two very large supermarkets just round 500m away from the hotel and the Vila Germanica is next door.

Room Tip: Try to book a bedroom away from the main road, as it is rather noisy.
