My wife and I had visited the Awasi Patagonia resort a couple of years ago and enjoyed it a great deal. So we decided to try Awasi's original resort in Chile's Atacama desert. Certainly another wonderful experience. This is a high end resort so quite expensive. When we went if you stayed 3 nights the 4th night was free. It is a Relais and Chateau resort with gourmet food and lovely accommodations. You have the services of a driver/guide during your stay and ours was outstanding. There is a lot to see in area and we were kept busy and interested all four days. Food not as good as in Patagonia but still good and enjoyable. Service was outstanding. The scenery in many places was quite beautiful.

Dear Cedarstrip,

Welcoming you back to one of our Awasi locations is such a treat. Thanks for choosing Awasi on your Atacama trip and also for sharing it with all of us.

Isn’t it nice to enjoy the other extreme of Chile? Absolutely different than Patagonia but the Atacama Desert is so majestic that we feel privileged to call this our home. It was great to open the doors of our home to you and being able to share our favorite locations all over this desert. We are very glad that you were able to enjoy your time with us and take advantage of our “Winter Promotion” during the dates of your stay.

As you’ve already heard, Awasi Iguazu will be opening in a near future and we would love to be able to welcome you then. You already have your Personal Reservations Assistant’s contact email and number – feel free to reach out for more information.

Best Regards,

Awasi Team

This was one of the best hotel stays in our lives. Where to start:

- Room. Vast, very well laid out, huge bathroom, lovely private outdoor space with shower. Design is jungle-slick.
- Common areas. Elegant, spacious, well designed, mixing a local feel with modernity and comfort.
- Service. Friendly, unobtrusive, expert, responsive, efficient, reliable.
- Guide. Ricardo was expert, friendly, flexible, reliable, and thanks to him we saw so much during those few days. It is 100% worth it to spend more to be in a place with a tailor-made, privately guided holiday. You can see so much more than you would otherwise, which means you save time (ask yourself: how much would an extra day cost?).
- We were there for three nights but would probably have spent one more night if it had been summer (you'd spend more time walking around and exploring when it's not so cold at altitude).
- The Atacama area contains some of the most amazing landscapes on Earth. I look at the pictures now and they are like an enhanced, amazing version of reality.
- Food was a delight: sophisticated, exciting, different, and almost as bespoke as the tours. Wine was a wonderful journey of discovery.

I have nothing to fault to this hotel. Everything was perfect. From the second we got out of the arrivals lounge to the moment Ricardo dropped us off again, we lived a dream.

It was among the most expensive rooms I have ever had, but when you consider that EVERYTHING is included, it's actually very good value for money.

We stayed 4 days at Awasi Atacama during our vacancies this July. From the moment you check in, the staff warmly welcome you and take care of your needs. Because of the altitude, my son was not feeling very well, and they attentively followed us. You have your own guide during the whole stay, and ours was efficient with information and also provided us with all that secure feeling one should have while traveling in a high desert. The food in the hotel is amazing, using local ingredients in a sophisticated yet cool manner. Rooms are really spacious and confortable, super clear and cozy. We enjoyed every minute of our stay. Definetly a recommendation.

We stayed at Awasi during our honeymoon and loved it. Our favorite aspects of Awasi are below:

1. Customized activities with your own guide - We met with Alejandro, our guide, the first day and based on our interests, customized our itinerary. We biked and did a lot of hiking. Our favoirtes included biking to the Lago Cejar where we saw a flamingo and floated in a lake with higher salinity than the Dead Sea and a hike through the Rio Grande canyon. All of our excursions were fantastic and we would highly recommend Alejandro who was very knowledgable about local plants and animals as well as the history of Atacama. The Atacama desert is a beautiful and unique place.

2. Incredible food - We've had the opportunity to dine at some incredible restaurants and this ranks highly. Dinner begins with a creative amuse bouche and is followed by appetizer, main, dessert, and daily truffle. All courses are paired with a different Chilean wine. We had 5 dinners and were blown away by every one. We were also impressed by the homemade bread (each day there was a different type of roll), and the chef's ability to incorporate local ingredients such as chanar and rica rica (make sure to try the chanar crème brulee!).

3. Friendly Service - The entire staff was very welcoming and go out of their way to make your vacation fantastic. On our last night, they planned a special dinner for us in honor of our honeymoon and accommodated a last minute request for a massage and to go on a star gazing excursion. We enjoyed chatting with the bar tender Felipe who made excellent cocktails and had great wine pairing recommendations.

One suggestion - if you plan to hike, bring hiking boots!

Dear 312Chicago,

Thank you very much for your review.

It was such a pleasure welcoming you both and witnessing the beginning of a beautiful future.

The most important part of our service, both in excursions and in the hotel is always taking the time to really get to know our guests and learn about their likes and dislikes. This way, we are truly able to provide a memorable experience. We loved seeing both your facial expressions when we surprised you with the details sent from your family at home.

For us a honeymoon trip is not to be taken lightly since it is a very important part of starting a new chapter in life. We are honored that you’ve chosen Awasi as your honeymoon destination!

Hope to see you back again in one of our future destinations, and perhaps on one of your anniversaries...

Best wishes,

Awasi Team

This was hands down the best hotel experience my husband and I have ever have. Make no mistake, this is a luxury all-inclusive stay but no detail is too small at Awasi Atacama. The staff was incredible and our guide Ricardo was beyond knowledgable. We had such a great time on our excursions and it was great to come back to such a warm and friendly environment at the end of a long day. Our favorite thing to do before dinner was to sit by the fire, read and drink pisco sours. The hotel was even kind enough to upgrade our room due to availability. This place is totally worth the splurge!
