“Very relaxed experience”

Jiulong Waterfall Scenic
Reviewed 15 November 2016

We were surprised by a Low amount of tourists. Visited few nice waterfalls, which are really high. This visit is a good idea for a relaxing afternoon! For entry we paid 112 rmb (1normal + 1student ticket bought via our hotel).

Nice and quiet place. Not too many tourists go there. Not far from Tang-Kou. I called a taxi to go there.

This place is about 40 minutes drive from Tangkou city. As it is not a popular spot, there are very few tourists here. There isn't much to see apart from the final destination, i.e. the nine dragon waterfall. Unlike other waterfalls, the water from the top spreads out widely in streams due to the rock formation. Amazing sight to behold. A leisurely walk takes about 1-5 to 2 hours.

If you've covered Huangshan mountain with half a day to spare, you can consider this scenic spot, together with Emerald Valley (about 1.5 to 2 hours too). Between the two, I prefer Emerald Valley as the walk is more pleasant and scenic.

This is separate from Huangshan Mountain, and costs about RMB 62 to get in. It is a reasonably pleasant walk up past some waterfalls, and pools.
It looks like, in the past, it was possible to hike further up, but all the trails were closed off with wire mesh fencing. Nevertheless, it is a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours. Really though, if you don’t go you won’t be missing much.
The locals will try to stiff you for transportation, but it is possible to walk there in less than an hour.
