We have stayed at Ross Bridge about eight times. The hotel is large, in a nice location, and has an exceptional golf course. Two restaurants and two bars in the building. Large swimming pool, The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable, Always an enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Higher floors are best.

This hotel is a wonderful place to stay. Rooms are nice, staff is very friendly. Food in the Clubhouse restaurant on the evening of 11/21 was horrible. Everything I ordered was bad and even after sending it back it was still terrible. No reflection on the wait staff. They were great but the chef that night could not even make a Reuben sandwich or fry potatoes.

We stopped at this resort so that I could play golf. We enjoyed are first night; so we stayed over for another. The rooms were very comfortable. We enjoyed the outside deck with the heaters in the cool fall evening.

Set in Hoover, AL, just outside of Birmingham, this Renaissance property is in a beautiful setting. You can self park or pay to park; we chose self parking and had no problem with access at any time. Check in was quick and uneventful. The lobby is very nice with a fireplace (gas) and sofas and chairs in place. There is a large exercise room and a very large pool outdoors with seating areas and gas firepits to sit around.

Our room, a king with a resort view, was extremely well appointed, with a table and business chair, along with a good-sized LCD TV with a pretty good selection of channels (various HBO selections as well). There is a mini-fridge in the TV stand (which also has good storage for clothes or snacks you may bring). The bathroom had both a bathtub and a shower stall with good quality towels, a hair dryer and Aveda toiletries.

The resort has a coffee shop that has Lavazza coffees (very good; the in-room coffee isn't the worst I've had but could be better) along with scones and muffins. Otherwise you have a choice of a $21.00 breakfast buffet or the various breakfast offerings at Brock's, the main eatery on the property (which also offers other meals besides breakfast). There is also room service available, which I assume is quite good. There is also a pretty well-stocked bar with TVs on the lower-floor, which looks very comfortable.

While the resort can be pricey, you can take advantage of various Marriott deals, including the Rewards Program, AAA and other program offerings.

Four of us played the ross bridge golf course. The greens were superb and very true to putt on and they were well maintained. The golf course overall was in excellent shape and would highly recommend it for play if you are in the Birmingham area.
