I am quite surprised that some of people here does not understand what Brijuni is all about. This is a resort build in early 20th century on probably some of most beautiful islands one can imagine. After second world war it was the forbidden heaved of luxury for world leaders. Nowadays the hotels are maintained in this style literary. Nothing is changed. Even no AC in Neptun hotel.
however this gives you the real feeling of history. The service is also maintained the same way. Even the food receipts are the same. Beautiful. There is no shop on the island. no noise or any mass tourism manifestation.

I go there once per year for 2 to 3 days. Absolute relaxation and energizing. Just taking a bike or electric car (of course there are no cars on the islands) and going trough pine forest with number of roman settlements and great see is amassing. Not to mention that every now and then dears and other animals will cross your way.

evenings, really special. once all day tourists leave the island (even during the day there are not a lot of them) there is just few people staying there and enjoying the scenic views. I was there last weekend and Novak Djokovic was one of the guests. He was driving bike around the place.

Of course this is not an island where one will find standard mass tourism way of travel and it certainly requires good understanding of what you get before you go there.

Room Tip: go for see view room

We were here for a conference. The hotel is dated but quaint. Must have the sea view as it is breath taking. Food is reasonable, although sometimes cold. Service from the staff is excellent. The island itself is beautiful, quiet, lovely beaches. Worth renting a bike to explore it, lots of interesting sights.

If you want to take a bath in a marble covered bathroom, and drink morning coffee near by the sea, and to be served in old fashion manner, hotel Neptun on Brijuni island is place for you. Great surprise for me was that they served a water in crystal glasses, which was It' real fine and old fashion touch. We took weekend rest in May three years in a row and we have a great time as a family. Our little boy enjoyed staying in big hotel with a spacey room. We had a buffet breakfast and dinner and food was really delicious. In hotel they have organized numerous activities for kids and whole family such as archery, hunting for hidden treasure, golfing, etc. In hotel you can rent a bike for reasonable price or electric golf car so you can explore island on your own. Nature is really beautiful and maintained. On other end of island there is safari park so kids could see and pet animals such as lamas, elephant, ostrich, donkey, etc
Rooms are clean and service is nice but if you're looking for all night long fun you probably want find it on Brijuni. This place is more suitable if you're looking to spend some quality time with a family in nature, especially if you have small children.

Room Tip: Every room is quiet because there are no cars on island only difference is if you want sea view or not. We chose forest view so every morning we saw squirrels playing on pine three which was really cute.

We used to visit Brioni with a boat, and we love to repeat our visit quite often (at least once a year).
Therefore, we weren't exactly the hotel visitor, but we book our berth through hotel reception, take a breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurants....

Let's start with a breakfast: not bad, not good, very average. We found staff half friendly, half ...they don't care. Very 80's.

Dinner:
They have 2 restaurants: Galia (which we prefer, when and if it is opened), and hotel's buffet restaurant, which is... very 80's. Nothing to remember!

The place:
It depends: if you are looking for a nature, and a quite place... then Brioni should be very nice. You should take a ride with a bicycle (or rent a golf car), and discover all the beauty of the island.

But: if you're looking for fun... go away!

There are 2 hotels at the Islands: this one and hotel Karmen... unfortunatelly both are very outdated.

Somehow: Brioni islands looks quite similar to Lerin or St.Marguerite islands near Cannes.
And: Brioni islands are worth of visit, thats' for sure.
Remember: Brioni is also an Italian high-end fashion house, and the company was named after the Italian name for the Croatian island group, the Brijuni islands. So much about beauty!

Unfortunatelly, all the service is so 80's...

Room Tip: If you are choosing between this hotel and hotel Karmen: they both have very similar location (near the sea), they both share the same restaurants... but hotel Karmen is even more outdated.

We were pleased with the cleanliness and space of our room, and the location of the hotel. Breakfast was fine although we did not receive the non-dairy milk that we requested when booking the room.

I'm afraid we found the staff unhelpful at times. I asked about the evening buffet when we arrived at the hotel and was directed to a menu, written in Croatian. I asked if there was an English language menu and told no. The hotel employee gave no further help or offer to translate the menu to me.

Be warned there is no wifi in the bedrooms, and wifi reception in the common areas of the hotel is poor. Two computers are available for guests, used mostly by children staying at the hotel. This was very inconvenient and, again, the staff were unhelpful. During our stay the hotel hosted a cooperate event - children of the guests used the computers in the foyer most of the day and evening (on one evening past 11pm!) as well as running around shouting and playing. I complained about this to a male member of staff at the reception desk before going to bed; he put his hands up and said the corporate group do whatever they please, and have done so for the last four years. He refused to deal with the situation but agreed it was unacceptable.

We slept badly on the second evening due to the noise coming from the festival at Fort Punta Christo. This was the only thing outside of the hotel's control but be aware of that when booking.

I sent this feedback by email to Hotel Neptun-Istra. I did not receive a reply, which is pretty much in keeping with the customer service we experienced at the hotel.
