We dined twice at the Puntulina whilst in Rovinj. Very popular restaurant you must book, you can also ask to be seated on the rocks, make sure you are ok walking across rocky outpost and down stairs. Or seated on outside balcony all have beautiful views. Very romantic of you want to impress or treat someone special. Restaurant is located at end of harbour up a beautiful cobbled side street. The views are to die for.
The first night we set on the upper outside terrace. The service was impeccable ... Explaining the dishes complimentary bruschetta canapé... We both ate the Sea Bass baked with a crust in a green sauce which came accompanied by sweet potato mash and some amount of garnish veg.. We ordered a salad to share which was a great choice. We had a bottle of Saint Thomassino Chardonnay lovely and chilled and kept in an ice bucket. The menu had a great choice of hits d'oeuvre and the food looked delicious. We spent 660 Kunas.
On our second visit we sat on the rocks and chose the Lobster with Pasta which we asked to shared as a starter ... They are very amenable for you to share dishes ... The lobster was plentiful and prepared so no messing about...
For main course we plumped for the fish catch of the day ... A very large Seabass again this time oven baked with potatoes, olives, tomatoes in its own juices. It was a very large platter delicious and too much really for us to finish you don't need and accompaniment and it took about 40 mins to cook we were not in a rush as we were enjoying being by the sea.
I finished with chocolate mousse which was a little runny concentrate on the starters and main courses ... There is little on the menu apart from fish so if you are after chicken or steak this is not the restaurant for you ..
One to visit but book
