They care about food here. My server is also the owner. He spoke to me fluently about where each type of fish is caught, how to prepare the fish, and why--they have thought hard about flavour and do what is needed to bring it out. This family has a true love of food, and of serving it to others--such a pleasure and privilege to eat here...the pasta with scampi really tasted like pasta and scampi--not overblown with other flavors that some restaurants use to make the shrimp and pasta into a vessel for something else...This is the real deal. The sea bass they prepared was locally caught, cooked just a tiny bit crisp on the skin, perfectly filleted at the table, and they served both filets on each side...Many restaurants in the US do not serve the lower portion which sits near the guts and has much more fishy flavor...this family really brings the flavor out. And they will expertly filet the fish at your table if you wish...I have eaten here twice---perfect consistency. If you are here try it! Note--this is not a gourmet restaurant in the sense of complex sauces and innovative parings...it is just really great sea food served within the delicious confines of a country that never stopped using local food. The olive oil is made around the corner. The wine comes from a neighboring vineyard. The restaurant is on the wharf and the fish come from the smaller diesel boats that you see in front of you. Olive oil, wine, fresh fish. What more could one ask for?

We ate here twice as recommended by our host and both experiences were very pleasant - good food, reasonably priced, huge portions. All meat dishes come with a sidedish, sauce and red onions aside, the fish was fresh and the desserts hit the right spot. The cold plate as an appetizer is a good way to get a glimpse of local products (cheese, prosciutto).

Service was very good and helpful, provided a lot of info on the food and made sure we felt served, but not stressed.

Last but not least, it's located within the harbor so a dinner at sunset while enjoying a glass of wine is the best way to go.

Lovely setting for a great meal on our last evening in Rovinj. Robbie was our professional but understatedly humorous waiter who helped make our evening delightful. Monkfish, baked to share between two, was fabulous. Left us with the desire to return to this beautiful port town.

Sidro is right on the central harbor of Rovinj and the outdoor tables make a great place to eat and watch the people go by. We started with a local red wine and then ordered mussels in garlic parsley broth and fried calamari with French Fries. A perfect amount of local food and a great meal.

This was not our first choice this night but were pleasantly surprised. Pretty helpful staff and good service. Fairly comprehensive menu with probably selections for all tastes and we went for fish based dishes. We particularly liked the seafood bundles (! Parcels of chopped seafood wrapped in leaves) - very good. Baklava for after was great and yet again the local grappa with honey just finishes the meal off. Pleased we went into Sidro and on a pretty wet evening a great place to watch the world go by.
