Our guide really was informed about the butterfly Gardens tour he had us to interact with the experience the animals playing with us . This is great venture for the children. This is a must see.

The various breeds of butterflies in this enclosure are unbelievable. And everywhere! Some so precious looking, you would swear they were fake. A pleasant time for certain. Wear sturdy shoes, though. Sandals made for some unsteady footing.

This expedition was offered as a tour on the cruise - its a short bus trip. Once there in addition to many types of live butterflies, there were some exotic birds and snakes - and they let you hold some of these to get your adrenaline flowing. It was a bit expensive for the tour ticket we bought but overall it was a nice experience in a jungle like setting.

We spent about 45 minutes here on our Island bus tour. It was interesting to learn about the butterflies and how they look after them. There is plenty of things to see: monkeys, parrots, toucans native animals to Roatan etc. The staff here is extremely knowledgeable and informative. Not sure if it is a rescue sanctuary but it appears everything is well looked after. There are lots of hills and paths, I would find it not suitable if you have alot of trouble walking. There is a chance to hold a parrot and Boa constrictor! An interesting side tour.

Nice little place but go there without expectation and please don't book in advance or with a tour...its 4 to 5 times the real price at the entrance...
