Stayed for 3 nights as a couple in January 2012. We really enjoyed this resort, it is peaceful, modern and has excellent food.

The beach is very nice, probably not the best beach in Thailand but good to swim in and lovely to relax by. The day beds at the sand provided by the resort are great, we spent a lot of time on them! Didn't use the pool as I prefer to swim at the beach if it's there, however it looked beautiful.

Rooms are very nice, we stayed in a Garden View room. As others have said, the room feels a bit small, especially when the mosquito net is pulled down. However, we didn't spend much time in the room itself so not a problem for us. The one downside of the rooms are the bathrooms - they are not sealed to the outside elements. This means that a lot of mosquitoes enter this area. And I mean a lot, we had dozens in there every day. So I would recommend bringing a lot of insect repellant, as well as insect spray if you want to get rid of them!

The food (especially the Thai food) at the restaurant was excellent. Probably a bit expensive, but still very nice. Cocktails were a bit hit and miss, but there were happy hour specials as well each night. Lots of places to sit and watch the sunset with a glass of wine and a snack.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The resort is beautiful, well maintained and very peaceful, it feels like an oasis, especially when compared to other resorts nearby. I would especially recommend it for couples - it is a place to relax and read etc, not much to do for kids or younger people travelling as a group.

We spent seven nights of our honeymoon at Costa Lanta from 2-9 January 2012 and cannot recommend it highly enough. We loved the simple, elegant design of the Beachfront View Superior room which was stylish, pristine and comfortable. All the rooms are a stone’s throw from the beach, which is wide and flat, clean and calm – and the Costa Lanta end of the beach is definitely the best and the quietest. Various sunbeds, hammocks, pillows and cushions of every shape and size are available to make lounging on the beach thoroughly relaxing and utterly luxurious. There’s always shade to be found under the trees lining the beach and pool too. With only 22 rooms, you always have plenty of space and privacy if you want it and are spoilt for places to play scrabble, sip cocktails or plunge into a good book. Massages and pedicures by the pool (which is stunning) are a lovely treat while the sun goes down over the beach. All this was a bonus for us – we’d chosen to come to Costa Lanta most of all for the food, and we weren’t disappointed. It was excellent, everything we hoped it would be and more; authentic, abundant, exciting and delicious. We even bumped into our three lovely hosts – Or, Nee and June – at the local food market and they encouraged us to buy whatever we didn’t recognise and offered to make it for us for dinner. Costa Lanta is a beautiful place to stay and the personal, thoughtful service and attention to detail lavished on the hotel and its guests by the owners puts it in a class of its own.

Room Tip: All the rooms are equally well located, choose a superior room with glass walls for greater space and light.

Stayed 4 nights, great pool, modern bungalows beautiful setting and sensational food at the restaurant. The staff are very helpful and we can highly recommend a 2 hour massage!

This is a beautiful resort located in a fantastic quiet location, but only moments to anything - beautiful beach right at the doorstep.

It was perfect for us and I loved all the design driven aspects of the resort.

Just returned from Koh Lanta, where we spent 11 nights at Costa Lanta, over the New Year.
Really don't have words to describe the experience as it was one of the best, maybe the best, I have lived through, during my travels. Fantastic staff, the owners, managers, every other one, made it so super pleasant. If anyone wants to relax, wants to be pampered, this is the place. The resort is located on a very quite part of the beach, therefore you don't really notice the hassle few hundred meters away. Beach itself is great, super clean, just i. So relaxing. the beach beds, refreshing drinks, food, Cafe del Mar playing all day, what more do you want? I travelled the whole island and there is hardly any similar place at Lanta, there is hardly similar place like Costa Lanta at any other island I have been, what beats Lanta is The Bale at Bali, but is has very different concept. I don't have any bad thing to write about Costa Lanta, enjoyed the bungallows, don't go, if you don't like minimalistic desing and approach to living, it is not for you. For me, i can only 100% recommend. I am coming back!

Room Tip: we had the regular garden bungalow and was happy with it.

Thanks to the reviews on tripadvisor we knew what we were in for. Our garden villa was in a
secluded corner and felt private enough when we we had the doors open.
It's a lovely slow pace where you hear coconuts dropping rather than music doofing.
The beach is beautiful to swim with soft sand (unlike many Ko lanta beaches) and is near Saladan (the main town) where there's plenty of restaurants and places to buy DVDs. Would highly recommend Laanta seafood.
Good buzz, good vibe. Hire a motorbike and explore the island if you get a chance.
