I recommend this authentic experience to anyone considering a Vietnamese homestay - in spite of a few cons :-)
Arrived at this nice little homestay located right next to a small river of the Mekong. There are nine rooms with a bed, mosquito nets, electricity, and private bathroom (cold water but good pressure).
The absolute pro of this stay was the possibility to go on Minh’s very well organized boat trip to the floating markets and a noodle factory (in addition to a generally good condition of the homestay itself). We were away from 4-10 AM, and the trip was amazing. Our guide Ngoc told so many interesting things.
Didn’t have the homestay’s breakfast, but food for dinner is plentiful mainly based on fish and different kinds of rice/noodle dishes.
I must warn everyone that the daily routine at this place begins extremely early, so one shouldn’t come here for a romantic getaway or relaxing experience. Work starts around 3 AM, and karaoke from a neighbor across the river also begins extremely early - around 6 AM. I think the noice of this place is a clear CON, and it’s a shame for Minh’s otherwise lovely homestay. However, with proper mental preparation for this daily routine,
I think this is a MUST DO while in southern Vietnam!

Beautiful location, beautiful food, beautiful rooms, beautiful people! We were taken down the river at night which was awesome to be on the water under the stars and see the bats farting over the water. We returned the next day which was incredible to see the people living on the river. We were served with incredibly tasty meals and were given a little cabin room that looked like something out of a fairytale. The service was lovely, they were very sweet and accommodating. Highly recommend, lovely experience.

We wanted to stay the Nguyen Shack but they were full so we booked here instead and were pleasantly surprised. We were starving when we arrived and a lovely woman made us a bowl of Pho, it was the best soup in all our time in Vietnam, sitting by the river in very peaceful grounds. We spoke with Mr Minh who organised the floating markets for us. We had to get up by 4am and hopped into a small boat with him and the captain. We floated in darkness for an hour or so, stopping for a coffee along the way in the boat. Wonderful!!
The markets were amazing to see. Mr Minh took us to a vantage point off the river for a few minutes so we got a better view of all the boats converging together. He bought us these delicious snacks and a handful of small sweet bananas. We then went on the small boat to a point where we think all the tours meet and had a pho noodle soup. Sensational to be a part of the markets and involved in them at the same time. We were home by ten ish. Think we paid $55 for two for this tour. Well worth it.
Mr Minh's English is pretty good. The breakfast with eggs and a lovely baguette set us up for the next day ahead. The dinner the night before was massive, the food just kept coming and was very tasty. Lovely setting. The hammocks a great place to chill.

We where send to this homestay from a tour, the family was 25 minutes late to pick us up and when they showed up they didn't have helmets for the 30 minutes bike ride. They drove like maniacs.
When we finally arrived, the "cooking class" lasted about 30 seconds and they actually only wanted to get it over with.
The bathroom was terrible dirty. (The worst in our 3 months trip).
And that's not all! The next day they lost us for 2 hrs in the river with a man that didn't not know what to do with us and spoke no English, we didn't get to see the floating market as a result.
Over all a very bad experience!

The homestay is really well developed!
We've been in a couple of homestay's and this was the most clean & comfortable...
We won't discuss the fact of that is the beauty of a homestay or not :)
The 4am tour is worth the early waking al all the money!
To see Vietnam awaken on their local life @ al their habits is priceless!
Our sailor was the cutest ever and made us all kind of hats & bracelets all made from water-coco-leafs, he'a a true artist!

The local markets are cool! Nice to see the authentic trading!
Minh Viet is a really nice guy & he's interested in you life & loves telling all the things we came across and discuss what it's like to be!

He's absolutely not pushy or rushy like all (got used to...) tours in Asia!
