I was there around noon time on Wednesday. There were no race. The gate was open but guard did not let me walk around. I wish they had set up a small office, a large screen TV, video shows of previous races, a sample of dog silk suit, may be a small visit chance to see greyhounds if there is any in stadium. A loud speaker as if there is a race would change your mood and you could have bet by a computer for a virtual dog race...

As long as you don't mind the issue of greyhound racing on moral grounds, then you should enjoy an evening here. The dogs seem fairly well looked after, the betting is pretty easy and simple - and it being Vietnam you can come away having won a million!

With history dating back to the vietnam war era where some of the diggers played football here, they don't put much effort at all into maintaining the greeness of the grass which would be more appealing to many that go there to watch football and the greyhounds. Another place that desperately needs money put back into restoration.

We were a group Australian Vietnam veterans many returning to Vietnam for the first time since our tour of duty 1967/1970. Vung Tau is where our base was. Vung Tau had a population of 50,000 now it 350,000. This stadium is where several units from our based played Aussie rules & today there are the Vung Tau swans, Hanoi hawks & the Saigon saints to play today. Yes it is a greyhound track but I thought some readers would like to know this piece of history

This is really like going to the dog racing in Geelong Australia when I was a kid it costs approximately $4.50/ person and in total about 400dogs received around the track of 450trs. They start in eight at a time and go like hell after the bite foes past.. Very well run and I believe many of the greyhound are either bred in Australia or from Australian breeding stock. My four year old boy absolutely love it.. Good food on hand... A good night out for something different to do whilst in Vung Tau.
