Yes, the amenities do look a little tired but who cares? Considering the low price I paid for two rooms, the delicious breakfast and dinner we enjoyed at the resturant (at very reasonable prices), the excellent and attentive service received, the special care given to my 85-year-old grandma - I think Pelangi Hotel was a great choice!

I took a star off due to location. There isn't anything much in the area. However, the hotel does offer a free shuttle to the nearby shopping centre at any time you specify (in advance).

ya, it's old. but all the reception. kitchen and transport staff provided excellent service. hotel provided free transfers to and from the ferry terminal, and also offered free shuttle around tanjong pinang city. breakfast was nothing flash but was ample and good.

No doubt they offer rooms at low rate, the furniture and fittings are too old and beyond repair. At least they need to be restored. Rooms need to be renovated. Poor looking bathroom need to redo.
But this hotel gives us plenty to be thankful for, at least.
They provided adequate services to meet their guests' need. Rich with friendly, helpful and courteous staff. They even provide complimentary transfers to most destinations.
Though they don't prepared rich variety of breakfast items, this country hotel offers typical Indonesian breakfast such as famous Nasi Goreng (fried rice) Sosis, Mie India, Bihun Goreng (fried vermicelli), lontong (rice cake served with spicy coconut milk gravy soup). As for dessert, variety of colourful Kue (an Indonesian bite-sized cake or snack food).
