Amazing to see a small piece of England here is Sandakan. Some lovely antiques and the house itself it well built out of various local timbers with deep colours.

As Sandakan grows this is a place steeped in memories that is conserving its place in history. It's worth checking out to gain some context on life in Sandakan in the 1900s. Combine your visit to the nearby English Tea House.

I'd never heard of Agnes Keith before I visited, I know more now but feel the place would be more of interest to local people than to foreigners such as myself. The home itself is lovely although you can see most of it in less than 30 mins or so, the video presentation is worth watching.

A lovely old colonial house. Agnes NK married a Brit, she was American, and has written several book about her life there. House is fascinating with lots of photos.

This is a beautiful, wooden, open plan house, very colonial. It is truly lovely, as is the English Tea Room adjacent where we had nice proper orange juice, tea and lovely scones.
