We (3 girls from Austria) had the best time with our driver Mohammad. In advance we already could plan our trip via mail with Jaouad, he kindly recommended us things to do during our 3 free days. It was important to us (due to our limited available time) to start our desert trip in Essaouira, but end it in Marrakech, we were extremely happy that this organisation was very flexible.
So we got picked up from Mohammed in Essaouira (he even contacted our host there, so that he could pick us up by foot right in front of our door and then walked with us to his car), the first day we drove up the High Atlas Mountain, breathtaking views along the way, it was a long drive but we enjoyed every minute of it, Mohammad told us interesting stories, learned some german with us, as we attempted to learn arab, played nice music, stopped everywhere we would like to take a picture and went to wonderful typical restaurants with us!!! In the evening we arrived at Ait Ben Haddou, where we stayed for one night in Kasbah Tebi, we were extremely lucky to experience this special place in the evening, where all the daytime-tourists were already gone, so we could enjoy a sunset-walk with no distractions and the best tajine we have ever had!!
The next day we drove into the desert near Quarzazate, the dunes were called Erg Lihoudi, the drive again was very comfortable and funny, the SUV became our living room, we loved listening to music and chatting along as the scenery changed every hour, from rocky mountains in all different colours, people with their donkeys and their extreme housing along the road, a million of palms, a fresh river to more and more rocks until it all disappeared into a hole lot of sand ;) We stayed at a wonderful camp, where we also had a sunset camel ride, dinner and breakfast. The camp was very chilled and comfortable, food was great, company was lovely, we played the drums while sitting at a fireplace and then watched shootingstars while laying on a carpet in front of our tent.
The last day was the longest drive, all the way from the desert to Marrakech, still Mohammad made the absolute best out of it, we stopped at Tamegroute, where we could actually see an original pottery and how people are living in this village, we all bought plates and tajines that now in austria still remind us everyday of the places we've seen and the people we met in morocco :)
We would highly recommend Quarzazate Unlimited to everybody we know and especially our driver Mohammad, he was always kind and funny, but yet serene! If we ever come back, we will plan another trip with him without any doubt!!! Bis bald, Mohammad!!!! :)
My girlfriend and I took an 8 day guided tour from Casablanca to Marrakech and it was the trip of a lifetime. The accommodations were authentic and oozing with character, the guide Omar was very professional and also a delight to spend time with. All of the planned destinations were exceptional and I wouldn't have cut anything out. The Agency responded to our requests within 12 hours and we felt like they had our experience at the forefront of their priorities. Every minute was enjoyable. There are many hours spent driving across a variety of Moroccan terrains and Omar played music for us from nomad tribes of the region and talked about his home town in the Valley of the Roses and we really felt like we got an inside view of authentic Moroccan culture and history. I cant wait to do it again. I returned home with knowledge of things I didn't know existed and we made a new friend in Omar. Do yourselves a favor and treat yourself to this excursion.
Our experience with Ouarzazate Unlimited was truly exceptional. Abdellah went above and beyond to accommodate us and helped us to understand many of morroco's wonderful intricacies. If you are looking for a personal experience to see the Sahara desert, I highly recommend this company and our guide/new friend Abdellah.
We had booked a 4 day tour from Marrakech to Fes from there web site, they request for us to send 50% to confirm the booking, we did all what they demand. but when we arrive to Morocco they change ever thing all the program they give us was not the one we book on the web site we choose Mahamid desert but they force us to go to Merzouga Desert and when we refused and we insist on our program the driver called jaouad threat us to leav us in the middle of no where, my wife was scared. we continue on their program.
be carefull of this agency.
Salam El Mehdi Koris,
The person behind this review pretends to be Jean from France, in fact he is a young man from our city Ouarzazate (El Mehdi), he posted such a negative review with such poor English, he did the same thing with some restaurants around the area while praising others. Until this point, all looks fine as everyone is eligible to post a review on TA when they actually have used the services of a company or had an experience with a restaurant or hotel. The thing is that the said "Jean" did neither contract our tours to have the right to evaluate our services nor smart enough to avoid contradictions in the content of his comments and the tour itinerary itself (All short Marrakech to Fes desert tours go through Merzouga desert and not Mhamid/chigaga).
We have been in touch with El Mehdi or Jean for further clarifications trying to figure out what was the reason behind his review, that morning phone call surprised him and did not appreciate our words. At first he denied to be the one who posted it but had to confess later to the president of our Local Travel Association who is a mutual friend. El Mehdi or Jean is asking to call back and present our sincere apology (For the phone call) to take action an remove the review otherwise it will remain live.
We have allowed enough time for El Mehdi/Jean to do self criticism and proceed with review removal, we have informed TripAdvisor but could not do anything as they believe that the review meet their guidelines. El Mehdi choses to deal with the matter in stubborn way so we decided to write our side of the story here to enlighten the TA community.
