“Nice Little Ottoman Bridge in Heart of Town”

Ribnica Bridge (Most na Ribnici)

This is a charming, typically Ottoman bridge and one of the few old historic monuments in mostly modern Podgorica. It is where the small stream Ribnica flows into theMoraca, the big river in town. It is part of a waterside park which includes nice trees, a beach on the cold river, where youths and others like to hang out, and the small Skaline fort ruins, with paths leading to the Parliament building and through the small old town. It is right across the river from the Hotel Podgorica and conveniently located in the heart of the city. It is easy to see on a short walk through the area, with the King Nikola statue and more. I would say it is one of the best historic landmarks in the city, the adjacent fort is simple and minimal and mostly valuable for some nice views of the river.

Very nice old bridge over river Ribnica on its mouth into river Morača. The best site for photo is from oposite site of Morača.

Nice old bridge next to a pebble beach along the Moraca River (beach only there is dry season). Huge negatives - seedy individuals congregate in the area and the place is a haven for rubbish. Has potential a city that lack tourist potential. I didn't notice the graffiti that others have but in 39oC, it gave me all to remain upright!

In the central part of Podgorica, the Ribnica Bridge is a beautiful secluded spot where it is easy to forget that you are in the city. The bridge is a bit removed from the main road and you need to walk down a small path to get to it. The path itself isn't that nice and could benefit from trash pick up but once you get to the bridge it is easy to see why people come here.

The bridge and the river flowing under it leads in to the main river that flows through the city. On a hot day is a good place to dip your feet in the cold water (with sandals on though! There is some glass in the sand around that area). I would definitely recommend it as a sight to see in the city during anyone's stay.
