Absolutely, totally loved the place. The area is quite small but they have made the best use of the place. I loved the pool which was quite big. They have only 6 rooms or so, so you get fast and quick service on whatever you ask for. We got the room with the Jacuzzi and the room was so huge and spacious overlooking the sea.
Loved the presentation and the food and the staff were really exceptional so very polite and friendly. The room facilities were excellent and well provided.
However both the wifi and our cellular data was not working in the premises. Data worked well both on the beach and outside the hotel so there may some interference inside.
This is an amazing place to stay

Undoubtedly one of the finest boutique hotels we have stayed in!! The staff , the property, the rooms, the location, the food- everything was top notch. Right from Rifan who helped us with reservations to Mangala (the head chef who catered to every tiny detail of our big family) and Isuru who served the food, the staff was exceptional! Also, the boys who helped us with the luggage- can't remember their names. The property itself is a dream - with a pool right in front of the ocean and with direct access to the beach. The emperor rooms are to die for - just didn't want to leave :(.

The staff deserve special mention as we were treated like royalty! Can't wait to go back!

We chose to leave Columbo after post flight one night stay and lucked in with this hotel after reading positive reviews on booking.com. The hotel was very quiet as it's the off season in June but that was ok. Our big room overlooked the stormy windswept beach, we enjoyed the sounds from the ocean. The bathroom was huge with excellent facilities. We wondered along the road in the heat and exhaust fumes looking in at the local shops, had a decent meal then walked back along the beach, a 15 odd mins walk. Our evening meal at the hotel was excellent, well presented and delicious. As was breakfast the next day, eggs Benedict not bad! Only one negative the moth balls in our room, suggest removing them before guests use the room. We took the local train to Galle the next day which gave us insight into Sri Lankan life. Hikkaduwa in the off season looked rather run down but had a certain charm of its own.

The property is clean, well cared for, private and intimate, with an awesome view of the beach. The staff always go above and beyond, paying attention to the smallest of details. Mangula, the chef, makes the best Sri Lankan food in Hikkaduwa! The staff, to make a few...Simanthi, Jihan and Isuru, are so friendly, helpful and professional. Dusan and Ameera are so thoughtful and always doing their best to make the stay memorable.
We absolutely love staying at this hotel and highly recommend it to all our friends.
