Aditya is probably one of the best boutique hotels we have ever stayed in. After a hectic week touring around Sri Lanka this was perfection in every way from the moment we arrived at reception to be greeted with a garland of flowers and fruit juice. The decor is elegant and sophisticated and the room we had overlooking the beach was to die for with a plunge pool jacuzzi on the balcony and a walk-in shower that would take a small car. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, who always ready with a warm smile and greeting, who will move tables so you can eat anywhere you wish i.e. on the private beach or around the pool.We were told there are 58 staff to look after guests in just twelve rooms so you can imagine the standard of service is superb. The chef, Namal, would like to be the first to get a Micheline star in Sri Lanka and I think he will as the comprehensive menu was beautiful, subtle and varied even for sensitive Western palates. We also had a massage and that was also brilliant and very reasonably priced. Generally, the cost of an average bottle of wine is expensive anywhere is Sri Lanka and at Aditya it is no exception at around £30 but, hey, what a way to enjoy it. We heard that the owners intend to add a couple of rooms and a gym in the near future. If you want to travel to Galle (about 17kms away) the staff will arrange for a reputable Tuk Tuk driver to take you there for about £9 return, including waiting time if it is for only a couple of hours. This offer is important as travelling on public transport and driving on the roads there is an experience the like of which I haven't had anywhere else. The lovely infinity pool is perfect for adults but there is no paddling pool for younger children although the pool is strictly supervised. In all, this is the ideal way to round off a wonderful holiday on a beautiful island.

Room Tip: To stay at such a special hotel/location and not pay the extra for an Ocean room may be something you might regret later.

Aditya Hotel is truly amazing boutique hotel right on the beach. I definitely recommend this hotel because of the following reasons. (Japanese below)

Suites and Hotel Interior: Highly stylish yet the use of Sri Lankan antique wooden furniture and artifacts creates calm and cozy atmosphere. The contrast between marble floor? (or shining concrete floors) and bright colors of flowers stimulates your sight. Spotless clean and room cleaning twice a day. When entering a room, always the exotic smell of incense welcomes us. Room is bigger compared to other 5 star hotels in Sri Lanka.

Stuff: Only few boutique hotels can provide such great hospitality and kindness – Yes to Aditya! I appreciate their caring. For example, we wanted to swim in the morning but the beach was kind of rough and big wave. So one of the stuff showed up and watched us the whole time during us swimming to make sure we are ok. And he collected seashells and gave us. This kind of stuff become our stay memorable and unforgettable. Very friendly stuff and beautiful smiles.

Food: Fantastic food, especially being tired from 5 consecutive days of Sri Lankan buffet-style dinner, and breakfast. Everything is course menu and great choice of ingredients. I enjoyed Chinese style crab soup. Maybe too much for three Japanese women so probably better to ask the portion of food before cooking since we don't want to waste food…

Location: 3 hours from Colombo. Minutes away from Hikkadua and Galle by Toktok. We enjoyed snorkeling at Hikkadua in the morning and Galle city exploring in the afternoon. The point is, this hotel is located in a good place.

Their website and pictures look great but your actual experience will be beyond expectations. You have to see it from your own eyes, believe me.

After a wonderful but exhausting week touring Sri Lanka, This Hotel was the perfect place to relax for the last four days of our holiday. This Hotel has quite a unique atmosphere, we all agreed, it felt more like we were guests at the home of an extremely wealthy Sri Lankan friend than a hotel! Our elegant Suite was beautifully furnished and It was a struggle to get our 15 year old daughter out of the huge luxury bathroom which included a jacuzzi/plunge pool onto the terrace. The food was exceptional, My daughter and I can't eat spicy food, but it was absolutely no problem, as every dish is cooked from scratch by their talanted chef, pretty amazing given the huge selection and variety of dishes on the menu. My husband spent one morning learning how to make Sri Lanken curries with the chef, which we then ate for our lunch, I must say, it was the best curry I have ever eaten.

Room Tip: As a treat, we had booked a separate suite for our daughter, which unfortunatly was on the opposite sides of the hotel, The rooms are HUGE, so we ended up sharing. If you are taking young teenagers, and want them to have their own room make sure you book well in advance and make it clear if you want the rooms to be together. As the hotel is so small there is no room for manoever when you get there! ( Whilst the hotel wouldn't refund us for the unused room, they did agree to provide our evening meals free of charge which we thought was fair)

I really love, love, love this hotel! It's definitely the best hotel in Sri Lanka and probably the best one in this part of the Earth. Usually when I'm writing review I'm trying to remember what was good, and what was bad, but in this case I can't even find fault with anything.

It's the luxury boutique hotel in Hikkaduwa, where we stayed for 4 days after two weeks trip around the Sri Lanka on the half way to the airport. The hotel is not so big as you could imagine from pics, so at first time we even passed by. There are very narrow left-side way from the highway with sign "Aditya".

We have parked the car and we were met by charming lady who gave us fresh juices and boa with the flowers. It was so lovely. The room was huge with very high ceiling. We took Sagara Suite with ocean view for 400USD per night and it was great. The ocean view was amazing. The jacuzzi with the same view to the ocean was also unforgetable. And the little present they gave us after the stay was the last drop to fell in love with this charming hotel.

Really it was the best hotel experience in my life. If you are going to be in Sri Lanka, the Aditya hotel is the best choice you could do.

Room Tip: Sagara Suite with the Ocean View is very good.

It was our first time in Sri Lanka and we really loved it. Aditya was the best hotel we have ever been and we will definetely come back soon.
The whole crew made our stay unforgettable. Aditya is perfectly located for trips to the local market at Galle or day trips to Yala National Park.
We did a lot of things like the "Cooking Experience" with Chef Namal who is a really nice guy and a perfect Executive Chef. All meals are made fresh and the entire staff is very helpfull and nice.
The highlight of our stay was the trip to the Yala National Park with Mr. Fernando, who is the Manager of the Hotel. He was so kind to take us to a private tour to see Leopards and Elephants. We really really enjoyed our trip and highly recommend Aditya!
