This place has a big history for Lankan. A large cave with a remarkable value in it. If you're capable try climbing the mountain and you'll get a remarkable view. Within 1 hour you can reach to the top.

Lots of steps up to the cave which take it out of you if it is hot and humid. Once up there it is certainly impressive and really breath taking. The view is amazing as well and the reclining Buddha is very impressive. Coming down is easier as it is a pathway so no steps. Was well worth the visit to see something completely different. The cave also has a prehistoric dig site which is ongoing but nothing much to see and nothing to look at that has come out of it. A large wooden stature containing the prayer bell also situated up there.

This is the site where the oldest remains of prehistoric man in South Asia were found, dating back over 37,000 years. The site doesn't have much to look at, and the information plaques aren't all that informative. There is a short scenic hike to the cave proper, where a visiting Chinese monk named Faxian is said to have stayed for meditation in around 400AD. The main attraction is the archaeology dig site.
