We stopped here and had a tour just for ourselves of about 30 min. They explained the different plants (about 15) and its use. They also showed us the different oils and lotions. The tour is free and they show us the shop. We bought 1000 rupees worth of spices (3 packs) as a fair price for the tour also.

It is a pleasant experience.

GREAT tour, very informative - I'd really RECCOMEND it if you want to know something more about spices. It looks like it is run by a family - NOT "commercialised", NOT 'touristy'. Nice atmosphere, nice people. There is no admission fee so buying something from their shop is a good idea to pay the people for their hard work

Joshua is a well informed, knowledgeable guide, he took through the spice garden explaining and letting us touch, feel and smell the different plants, oils and seeds, going the extra mile to open up a nutmeg fruit and showing us the seed. We loved the tea that was served after the tour, there was no pressure to buy. Just a very good experience.

Asanka is a knowledgeable and personable host, from arranging a tuk-tuk pick-up to explaining all about the spices around the small garden that he manages. We had a fantastic time learning, and exchanging our own experiences on medicinal uses of spices and beyond. A highlight of our time in Kandy indeed.
