Pretty good hotel with the usual amenities that you might expect from a more touristy spot that this place is. The open-air restaurant is where the meals are served, this was common on our trip, but if you're not in love with the heat when you eat be wary. In general this met our expectations and was solid all around. It's not quite the hominess of a guest house, but those are not so easy to find in Sigirya.

The staff were a bit challenging at times in trying to communicate their thoughts with us and I also found the meal prices quite expensive for food that wasn't particularly worth writing home about.

It's been some time since I stayed here, but I wanted to get a review in before it was too late!
My friend and I journeyed through Sri Lanka for a couple of weeks and of course had to see all the major historical sites. This was one of our stops and we used this as our base for traveling to Sigiriya rock, Polonnaruwa, Kaudulla National Park, and Anuradhapura.

Our drive led us along a dirt road into a nice sized property and a very hospitable greeting with a welcome drink. After checking in we were escorted to our room.
It was very nice but a bit on the smaller side. But we weren't planning on staying inside all the time so it was fine for our needs.

The grounds were simply manicured but still nice. Lot of animals and birds flying around though the birds did make quite a bit of noise as they were nesting in our building! At night there are even bats which is pretty cool!

Food: I love breakfast. Didn't get a buffet every morning but a simpler selection which kept me from over stuffing myself. The dinner buffet was available on one of the nights and it was pretty nice. No complaints at all.

The view of the pool is gorgeous. Especially as the sun goes down. It's really gorgeous.

The service we received was excellent. Everyone was very cordial and that's mainly the reason why I wanted to get a good review in for this place. Really enjoyed my stay here and I would stay again if I ever got the chance to return.

Oh, there was no driver room for this location at the time of our visit. Our driver stayed off-site not too far away. However this was Sept 2017 and I believe that rooms were being constructed while we were there!

Room Tip: Some views offer the pool while others can offer the rock! All are surrounded by the sounds of nature! I liked having a room upstairs.

What a lovely piece of property in the middle of nowhere... Stayed here for 2 nights and had a brilliant time. Helpful staff and cozy rooms. Loved the pool in the middle of the resort. DInner buffet was good enough - although would have liked to see more local options.

This was our favourite hotel during our 2 week tour of Sri Lanka. Close to both Dambulla, for the cave temple, and Sigiria Rock Fortress, the hotel has some interesting architectural features, beautiful grounds and a wonderfully refreshing pool after a day of site seeing. The staff are fantastic and provide a first class service. Our child is a very fussy eater and they went out of their way to prepare food to suit his tastes. The breakfast buffet offers a good variety of very fresh food, and the evening buffet is something else! You are also treated to a visit by monkeys at around 7.30am.

Interesting hotel location, out in nowhere, tucked into a jungle environment with dirt road leading to the hotel from main road. The hotel compound is neat but the grass needs to be mowed, quite untidy.
The access to the room is crazy. You stand in a gravel area, reach out to unlock the door and enter the room. Be very careful coming out of the room. You need to step down immediately from the room into the dirt gravel area. One can easy trip and fall with serious injury.
The room is reasonable in size but badly furnished. There is practically limited space between the furniture housing the locked fridge and the office desk. The office chair will not slide to the middle of the table. I had to move the fridge cabinet to make room for the chair to slide to the middle of the desk. Do not move the chair as it make so much noise that can wake up other guest at least three rooms away. All it needs soft pads to reduce the noise but that was not there. The bathroom door slams so hard with loud noise also. The attached door closer does not work well. There is a bad cabinet to put your bags on but do not put your bags there. The wall mounted tv will hinder the opening and closing of your bags. Poor design and planning. We had to put the bags in the long two seater sofa. The installed split system aircon unit is too small for the room. Absolutely slow internet, 1.1Mbits download and 1.0Mbits upload. Why does the hotel lock the fridge? We had to call reception to unlock the fridge to put our medication in.
There are some positives to the room. It opens up to beautiful view, easy walk to the swimming pool, restaurant and other facilities. Breakfast is great but we expected more local Sri Lankan food which was not served.

Room Tip: Watch out getting out of the room. You can trip and fall as your first step drops a step level

Dear Mr. Naidoo,

Thank you very much for staying with us.

We were a bit concerned on the comments you have made of our hotel.
The hotel was designed by one of the best architects in Sri Lanka Mr. Vinod Jayasinghe and his team of very reputed professional consultants. The concept of our hotel was to offer a true experience of Sri Lanka as we were also blessed with natural surroundings including paddy fields etc. The hotel is built on 10 acres of land and rooms are either single storied or twin storeyed and made in a chalet concept to offer clients leisure spaces inside and outside.

As you will see from all others who have commented our gardens are well maintained, grass trimmed daily with 8 staff on the job from morning till evening.

Re: the rooms, we respect your opinion. However, please also go through the comments made by others on Trip Advisor.

The bathroom door has a door closure that fits perfectly back again for the safety of the clients.

The baggage rack is between 5 ½ ‘ – 6’ in length and is generally enough for 2 bags. We also have a 6’ x 4’ tall cupboard to keep your belongings including the safety locker.

Thank you once again for choosing SigiriyaJungles.
